FM Update 5.0 overview - Nordschleife and Ringer Tour

I was a bit confused because we always had both forza motorsport and horizon in one livestream, this time we only had horizon, maybe February’s livestream will be only about motorsport?

Why release the game when you did?
SERIOUSLY, WHY?

You could have saved this franchise and the developer from possible termination if you only held out a few more months. If Update 5.0 is where the game actually “begins”, why even contemplate releasing an obviously unfinished game knowing full well of the potential and quite inevitable repercussions and consequences?
Not sure who is calling the shots but wow, I don’t think you needed a degree in anything to realize…“Don’t release an unfinished game”…especially in a great franchise such as Forza.

But alas, it is what it is, and we are where we are. hoping Turn 10 “turns” things around for the better and hopefully, these fixes and whatnot is just the beginning of the extremely long road to recovery…

I mean, their competitor(s) did the same thing, also got lambasted for it, and yet, if you look around now, Gran Turismo 7 is being paraded around as the “FM Killer”

I’ll be glad when the the car XP goes as it’s not doing my energy bill any good either the time it takes. Then the car you upgrade is nowhere near as good as you thought it would be. Needs to go completely to bring back the fun.

Car models are one thing, but the visuals are far from what was promised in ‘in game footage’ trailers. So far there’s been no acknowledgement that there’s been a downgrade at all and no progress towards undoing it.

Well its not like they can change that at this point anyway. Aknowledging it would be pretty pointless.
Yes, it would be nice to see them admit that they sold the game on a visual fidelity it didnt have. But that just isnt realistic to expect.

Sounds fun to me haha

it should be this
listed with fixes for PC

it apply also to nonstandard wheels, pedals etc.
saving work without problems btw.
its only the automatic loading when starting the game that doesn’t work.

if you realy have issues with saving a custom profile you should post it into the troubleshooting hub.

Nordschleife is great but it won’t be the same unless there’s touristanfahrten ( open track days ). Saw no mention of it anywhere, but mebbe it’s a secret. Hope so. Don’t need to have every online event be a race.

Gt7 wasnt an unfinished game at release, people just didnt like the credit grind. As far as a “forza killer”, its the other way around as its the more popular game always has been. I prefer forza to gt but forza has never gotten close to dethroning it players wise.

There are a lot of things they could change, even if it’s just additional options on PC.

  • Full resolution raytracing, as well as user control over the BVH distance. RT reflections for track surfaces instead of SSR would be good too

  • Antialiasing options. If MSAA is no longer possible, simply being able to disable TAA at all is a must.

  • bringing back the color grading and tonemapping they used prerelease should be possible across all platforms. I don’t see why that would have a significant performance hit, but it would drastically improve the visuals.

  • increased grass density at Ultra settings. Maybe even bring back the higher quality prerelease grass assets/textures

All the above shouldn’t be impossible to add in updates. It’s no more significant than the promised RTGI update, and a lot of this stuff is already visible in the game files but without the necessary content to make them actually work.

Thanks for your reply.

Game was refunded months ago, now that’s apparently been fixed I’ll wait for a big discounted sale…

As much as I think they are incompetent at making a game. I also dont think they downgraded that much of the graphical elements just to spite us. However, there is the anomaly of it not being released on Xbox one, and still having this downgrade. Because in normal circumstances, People would just use the fact its also running on last gen consoles to excuse the fact they downgraded the visuals.

Now?
Considering GT has always outsold FM by a wide margin, it’s always been the “FM killer.”
FM has always been the contender to GT, never the champ.
Certain FM installments have been some dang good contenders though - I miss those days.

Gamepass is a cheap option if you get it on sale or use the various workarounds to get Gamepass very cheap from a key reseller and connect vpn to Turkey etc. Doing that for a year is cheaper for me than buying the std Forza.

You can also stack codes.

Open Track Days. By that are you referring to online, multi-player open track days? If you are then that would be a great addition to the game for any track. It should be in the game, either as a regular event, it could run up to 24 players then spawn another event. Our they could add it to the private events and let players start their own open track days. Let a pkayer start an open track day just running solo and make it so it is publicly available for anyone. But the host “MUST” have ability to kick rammers and other trouble makers from the room.

You seen Formula E at Monaco?

Glorious

If we had a lobby browser you wouldnt need Forza to host a ‘track day’

I think we’re stuck with it, in that it is such a core part of the design and this so embedded in the game, that’s the kind of surgery that can’t be done without killing the patient.

From my read of it, it sounds more like minimising it to the point that everything unlocks at level 1, and it won’t take so long to get to level 50. It’d make it more like the old economy, but that’s as close as they can get.

Transforming into the old credit economy and removing CarPG totally would no doubt involve completely breaking and more or less re launching the game, and I don’t know how they would stitch it back together without ruining everyone’s progress etc.

I would host a live track day session if T10 would set up a way to allow these from the private online sessions.
