FM Update 4.0 | 16 Jan 2024

I do hope you’re right, but then again, it also makes no sense to release a bug-filled, feature-starved, unoptimized, unpolished game to the masses when they’ve had 6 years of development time, soooo…I guess we’ll see.

Turn 10 doesn’t just need players - in fact, I’d argue that simply having “players” is why this game is currently the way it is. They need players who are car people as well. They need people who can sit there whenever the “gamers” come up with systems that simply don’t work with racing games and tell those people “Appreciate the input, but no, and here’s why” and they need them in enough numbers and positions of power to make it stick.

Average static person, can’t make sense of things. Like why can’t I buy a car part if I have the money. They’ll just ignore it and drive around as is. And that’s too bad.
The average static person looking at this game would say: FH looks better.
And he’s gonna stop playing

Bruh…if i have to log in and change my pedal deadzones for another month…im just going to have to do it. - at least make the doggone game stable to the point im not doibg it 4-5 times a gaming session from crashes

Im sooo mad thst this game is so broken and there arent many alternatives

Seriously anyone believing the bells n whistles, flashy marketing of T10 is kidding themselves.
My understanding of Built from the ground up is starting with a clean slate, new everything including new code.
Here’s a few pointers that prove it’s not Built from the ground up.

  1. Having a spin to win money glitch from previous title, old code.
  2. Recycled car modeling that goes way before 6 years ago, old code.
  3. Livery/Vinyl editor. The one that makes me laugh the hardest. A copy n paste from previous title, They couldn’t even copy n paste the years outdated FH5 editor, with 2 different colour backgrounds, grouped lettering option.
In my opinion new renderings of previous tracks, old car modeling and giving us a horrendous new UI and a 6 year wait, is a tall ask to pass off and convince me that’s it’s Built from the ground up. In saying that, each to their own on considering what amounts to Built from the ground up.

Will someone at T10 PLEASE listen to your (rapidly dwindling) fan base?

The vast majority of us don’t care about additional content added to a game that is so broken that it’s not even close to enjoyable. I really don’t care if your additional content was already in the works; show the people who keep your lights on that you’re listening to them and actually give a crap about them! STOP releasing content that (1) loads of players are not going to see because they’ve stepped away from the game until it gets sorted out, me included and (2) will undoubtedly ADD BUGS to an already mess of a game because it’s obvious by your “patch releases” that you’re continuing to release things without testing them first.

The core game MUST BE your top priority. Staying the course you’ve been on says you really don’t care what your fans think or want, and you are totally inflexible and would rather continue to drive players away. I guess you already got our money, right?

I know I speak for many others when I say at this rate I will never drop another penny on anything T10 has its hands in.

I was being ironic

I have also cancelled GP…

I am saddened that a game I was anticipating so much is so poor.

Please stop the rammers, racing with players who want to enjoy the game.

Please add a radar, I shouldn’t be losing rating because I want to play in cockpit view using a wheel, and then having to switch to outside view and joypad to catch the rating back up.

No max level for a car, I would enjoy seeing my favourite cars at level 500 or whatever, now once they hit 50, I feel it’s wasted points and play a different vehicle.

No FOMO, this is unfair on people who cannot dedicate all their time to the game.

That is truly the only way I see them keeping the RPG aspect, they have to let the XP rack up a lot quicker. The system can still be used but it has to be adjusted.

I’d rather Adelaide, Surfer’s Paradise or Phillip Island over Albert Park.

The thing is there are different teams, one creates/finetunes new tracks, one creates cars, one does bugfixing, one does performance fixing, one does this and one does that. Just because they add new race tracks to the game, doesn’t mean they are not working on fixing the game itself. In every company there are different departments, why should it be any different in a gaming dev studio?

And yes they most probably have created the new content in advance already and now they are dripfeeding it to us. Well this how it works. Is there anything broken about Yas Marina or Hockenheimring? No i don’t think so. I am not defending this mess of a game, but you just gotta know how all this works. You can’t tell them to stop releasing new content, because the one thing has nothing to do with the other thing, simple as that.

I fully agree with your message, but this part is wrong:

I haven’t really noticed these issues with the curbs yet. Well on Yas Marina i don’t drive on the curbs very often. If i do i mostly only do it in the first few curves. I don’t touch them in the first, but in T2, T3, T4 and that hairpin curve, else i don’t really touch them. Well i am not a pro driver.

Im sorry but this forum is getting ridiculous. The moderators or Turn 10 or whoever is in charge of deciding what posts are ok or not needs to rethink and re-evaluate the way they work.
You cant just keep closing people’s posts, hiding their posts, or getting them into trouble for simply being negative about this product.
With that out of the way, Turn 10 as a company imo, is done. It seems they are living in a bubble.
Turn 10, please, for the love of all things carburetored and injected, get back down from whatever cloud you seem to be on and come back down to Earth where there is problems in it!
Your major concern should be the alleviation of the people and the fans of Forza and Turn 10. Throwing a track, that quite frankly is not that popular outside of USA, is simply not going to cut it. If the game was in better shape than sure, content. But there is so much to be done to get the game at just playable that this move and quite frankly, lazy attitude towards the problems is astonishing to say the least

I get what you are saying but when there are umpteen threads with the same complaints in them surely it makes sense to group them together in one big thread?
I wouldnt want to be a mod on a forum, like it or not,but I think they do a great job keeping things in check.

I wonder if Daytona is actually a fully re-scanned environment or just the Forza Motorsport 7 asset reused. The track surface is obviously redone because of the new tyre physics but I wonder if anything in the scenery is actually new and updated. It feels like only the FM7 assets are being put back in.

I doubt it. To my knowledge the layout of Daytona remains the same so why would they bother? They didn’t bother with Spa.

Its just converted with some little changes like the tracksurface for the new tirephysics, some materials for the new lighting and stuff.

It got the most minimum effort conversion possible like the wrong pitexit just got carried over from previous titles - releasing the cars from pitexit into a brakingzone at the most dangerous point.

Fun Fact: mclaren senna GTR was at the xbox 2022 showcase when they showed FM in engine demo! We should watch those trailers again to see if we’re missing anything else…
