Does this mean it’s two months until the next update?
Yes.
HEROES NEVER DIE! GONNA MAKE IT TO THE FINISH LINE!
Brewed from the ground up
Thank you for the tip - I could at least identify what the problem was at my side. I had the thursday and friday some serious connection problems where the microsoft servers were not available throughout the game. And the connection get lost right after switching from the end of the race to the reward screen - so the gold trophy was given but not the reward car.
I played the whole championship a third time, now with a more stable connection and without any other device in the internet or wlan in our house taking away any bandwith.
And finally I get the nissan nismo z. I hope there will be a patch sometimes where the always online for the internet will be disabled for this game. I do 99% of the time only single player (100% on the xbox series x).
They should have an intro for every event in the 20th anniversary events. Missed opportunity.
I skip all of them anyway, because the voice that speaks uses the same audioslider like the female racing engineer that tells the players how much penalty time they got etc. I would have to change the audio setting everytime there is one of these intros. So I just skip all of it.
They could have added another audioslider or a toggle to turn off that annoying female voice in races, but I don’t expect any logic anymore.
I set the slider to 0 two weeks after release.
I understand where you are coming from.
I only wondered why this special 20th Anniversary event list wasn’t given special treatment. Thats all.
Not sure if this has been brought up internally, but I along with many others are noticing that the new music that was talked about in the update notes have not played yet. Besides the FM4 track playing in the Tour intro, none of the promised new music has played during the other menus and in game. Any update on that?
The new and old music is great. Thank you T10.
I will never only be negative or positive about the game, I just stick to the facts.
It finally works as intended, so that is a good thing. Maybe you should test these things before you release it.
Not just on a client in your inhouse team, no you should test it with a person that is not in the network. That would probably solve most problems. Not me hell no, but pick a person, somebody of the “Insiders” team you can trust.
And why my “title” regular is so often just gone? Stop that, I don’t wanna go through some annoying menus to acticate it again. You should focus on the game, not some random ppl.
Anyone actually enjoying this update? I’m not going to lie I haven’t played it since week one. I feel like for something that’s supposed to be celebrating a 20 year anniversary it doesn’t feel very special. Sure you have the nostalgia trips of music and the cover cars but this whole thing feels like a cop out.
For something this special I would’ve thought it made sense to add a fan favourite track every week from each game, or a track that was finally introduced into the series.
Fuji from FM1
New York from FM2
Camino Viejo and it’s mini circuits from FM3
Bernese Alps from FM4
Prague from FM5
Our first introduction to Monza in FM6
COTA from FM7.
I get it would take time to have remade all the old circuits, but considering Spa isn’t the updated version we have in the game currently compared to real life, it’s clear that Monza and COTA could’ve been re-added.
The reward cars themselves feels a little thrown together and random. A nismo version of a car we already have, with very little looks and performance changes, and a new variant of the NSX. I know it’s somewhat Japanese themed with Fuji but it just seems a bit random, the time attack cars and the paid DLC cars a little bit better but I’ve not even used them yet as I just have no interest in this update.
Not to mention the events themselves online don’t exactly feel special, the 20th anniversary being the only thing around it. They could’ve added some new race types for us, The Holy Trinity (R900 or standard P1 vs LaFerrari vs 918), the TransAm cars, electric only, a LeMans themed event that’s done well and not just the Endurance series spec we’ll likely get, maybe even a Spa or Nurburgring one too for GT3s where the tyre wear is realistic and we’re not pitting every lap.
Am I alone in this or is there anyone else that feels a bit let down with this update?
I don’t feel let down as I wasn’t expecting much.
Not interested in FK. I’ve completed a total of 1 lap since it came out
Meet ups? Haven’t entered one. Not my scene.
I hope interest in the game has picked up enough since update 20 to make future updates worthwhile for T10 and Microsoft though.
I’m more interested in update 21 onwards. Maybe we’re due another “message to the Forza community” soon which includes a future roadmap of things they’re working on.
With you on that, it’s a very niche circuit one I never enjoyed, it’s main focus is for drifting more than racing or track day/meet ups like the old days.
Meet ups are something I dabbled with on occasion on 7, but as is the same everyone just wants to drive P/X class so it’s still annoying as ever.
Hopefully we get a roadmap soon, but I still fear that updates from now on won’t be as packed with tracks and cars and they’ll start getting less and less. I think we’re probably done seeing new or past content now and focus is and will turn to Horizon solely from now on.
i wasnt expecting anything for this and wasnt disappointed. i still play the same way everyday and still enjoying playing the game my way.
Fujimi was fun at the start because it’s so different to every other track.
It’s also very well crafted and executed. I even enjoyed MP races on it. But it kinda weared off. I often dodge it in MP now.
Overall update 20 drags on too long for my taste. 7 weeks of drip feed SP events with an astonishing low number of added cars.
The initial drop was fine but then only the R8 in W3 and the NSX in W7.
I expected a lot more car additions. Something between a total of 20 over the whole update (for obvious reasons) or at least one per week to keep it fresh.
Will be a dull time until W7 for me.
Im with you on that. There needed to be more oomph added to this update for it to last a full 7 weeks. They missed the mark on adding at least double the amount of cars we got and its just been their thing. We cant seem to get past 10-15 car additions per update even with DLC attached or an update last beyond 4 weeks. What gives? Honestly a few more highly requested classic Forza tracks would have been nice too, maybe not all but at least 2 or 3 more. And at least a feature or two from past games along with way more events. This could have also been their chance to experiment with the non time gated events but they still are dragging it on.
Update 20 met my expectations. The press releases that led up to it helped measure my excitement . There was enough perks (fan-favorite FK, AI upgrade, car pack) to make it “special” but it’s still just an update. Example: “Career” mode received a beefier content update but the style and approach of “career” mode stayed the same. Adding seven new tracks in a single update, no matter the occasion, is just not how T10 operates.
It’s difficult to answer this question, because I think my own opinion is biased, and listening to myself, I always want more!
However, I was delighted with the return of FK; I still enjoy playing it just as much because I like this undulating route.
Obviously, I wouldn’t have been against the sequenced addition of other historical sections (Camino Viejo, New York, Positano, Prague, etc.). I think some of them are in the works, but in the absence of a roadmap, we can expect a new circuit to be released every two or three months.
The “right” balance to ensure the player base’s engagement is fragile, but it’s the minimum to balance the cost/benefit of this game.
I can’t say I was disappointed; for some reason (nostalgia?) I played the game more than in previous weeks.
That said, seven weeks is a bit long, considering we got the “carrot” on day one; there’s nothing special to look forward to from this update other than update 21.
They might have been wise to keep some of the cake to reveal W3, W5 and W7. That would probably have kept my hype level high for this important anniversary of the franchise!
From what I’ve heard online, it’s clear that a big part of players really enjoy the update. It’s obvious that the devs can’t make everyone happy, even though they tried as they’ve introduced new features for many parts of the game.
For me personally I really like the new AI system, it’s still not where they promised it would be at launch, but for the first time it feels like it’s making serious progress, and I’m sure they can actually build upon it from this point on, so that in a few months the AI is actually worth racing.
The SP Tours are pretty nice, I still seek a good career mode though as that was the main reason in the past why I played Forza games, but it’s better than nothing, and with the new AI, I actually somewhat enjoy playing it, as I don’t get rammed for no reason anymore.
The MP content doesn’t really interest me, as I really enjoy being competitive, but meetups don’t really catch me, and the Rating system is still not really working, so I rather play other games that have a good system.
Fujimi was the major reason for my hype, but I knew already before the update that it will be just a short walk down memory lane and that’s it, and I’m fine with that.
The sad truth is, there are still so many different things that need to be fixed and improved, this update is only a medium sized distraction. I think the update overall was good and I like all the new features, but when a AAA studio develops their game at the same pace as the indy devs do their games, then it feels like T10/Microsoft aren’t really investing enough into Forza to make it the best experience possible.
The game came out so lacking in every aspect, that no new content update can ever distract enough from that. They still need to fix major parts of the base that the game is build upon.
