FM 5 Takes a Back Seat

That’s a pretty good summation of the whole thing. Because of the issues with the Xbox One (Kinect required and such) I didn’t jump at launch. Also I didn’t have a compatible wheel at the time. But I did read the FM5 forums and saw the issues that were reported from the start. I didn’t really read the FM5 forums after that because I still had plenty to do on FM4. I finally jumped last month and got the Xbox One along with a new wheel, pedals, etc.

I was pretty shocked when I first started playing to see that it didn’t seem like they had fixed any of the issues. I foolishly had thought that Turn 10 knew they were rushed and released a game with problems but would have jumped on it and started fixing them now that they had the time. Their reputation has really taken a hit in my book.

I think the Porsche thing is done for the foreseeable future. 20 tracks might be a little much to ask for. The other things might reappear in the next version but I wouldn’t hold my breath.

Thanks for your comments on my post. Given that in playing Forza i have invested well over £1000 since 2009 in microsoft equipment and software i dont consider my expectations unreasonable. When a car manufacturer launches a new model it doesnt have less features than the car that preceded it. VW tried it with the mkv golf. The basic models had poor kit levels. That lasted less than 6 months as the car while great certainly didnt represent a good home for your cash. Having developed a tour de force reputation for the Forza franchise to put out a game of such poorly judged and developed content bordered on financial suicide. I firmly believe that if the game had been launched in that state now it would have been torn to shreds by the critics and buyers alike. It only sold because there was no other driving game available. Turn 10 would do well to bear that in mind when developing FM6.

I am going away to visit family next week. And on returning i will have retrieved my 360. I am at the point where i would rather boot it up again than carry on playing T10s Victorian folly. Hopefully that should last me through to the launch of Project Cars. If FM6 follows the same format as 5 then be certain i will be taking my custom elsewhere.

It’s more like a pretty good regurgitation of the same issues people have been posting since the release date. It’s no wonder that the community on the FM5 forums has dried up given that we’re still reading the same lame posts about the same lame perceived problems with the game 12 months after release. !??!?!??!

Forza 5 is alive and well for me! I just bought the car pass at a discount and having a great time! I do wish Turn10 would at least throw us some new rival events.

I do much rather prefer FM5, but since it’s dead and became boring with not even Rivals updates, I’ve been playing FH2 flat out. If FM5 still had proper new content, I would still be playing it together with FH2…

I still play both daily, well almost daily

Must you really come in to every single thread with your undying level of positiveness? I swear to god only thing you say is,“oh i have no problems at all”,“everythings fine …blah blah blah” so you are blessed with a perfect console and perfect faultless games (atleast that’s what you make us think) some of us do really have problems. So please, if you got nothing else to say…

Harsh dude!,i have not had any problems either, other than boredom with FM5,lighten up a little its just a game.

Some people don’t come on here to whinge about what THEY want in the game. Some people enjoy FM5 for what it is because we have come to terms that it isn’t going to become anything more.

I’ve gotten bored with FH2 already and I’m going back to FM5

FM5 is dead already, horizon horizon horizon, that’s all I am hearing.

Horizon is at best a pretty arcade racer (no offence to those who enjoy it just not my bag)
I want a track racer that is as 'sim’as possible on a console, as I cannot afford to splash out on a high spec PC rig. FM4 was going in the right direction, T10 then decided to showcase the Xbox one probably at Microsofts request with FM5, so it in my opinion is just a demo that we paid through the nose for. If FM6 doesn’t have bags more tracks and day night transitions weather I will be out!

I have even gone back to my PS3 and dusted off GT6 which is still getting updates, it might not be next gen but might possibly keep me sane until the “delayed” release of Project CARS next year :frowning:

I agree m8, turn 10 more interested in HORIZON 2, we won’t see any more car’s or new tracks until FORZA 6 comes then hopefully they might do it right this time with Teams and all weather racing.
