Why the game only takes advantage of 3-4 CPU cores? Most ppl nowadays have CPU’s with 8+ CPU cores. We are limited to 60-75 FPS or something, because the game is coded like a game from 6+ years ago. It’s exactly the same lazy multithreading code that already was in FM7.
Please fix the horrible CPU performance. Let ppl with 8+ CPU cores play with up to 120 or 144 FPS or whatever they need without getting stuttering, because single cores are gettings utiilized to 100% what makes the game stutter!

We don’t live in the year 2018 anymore. Look at the code from Playground Games how their games run. In their games you can play WITHOUT ANY STUTTERING WHATSOEVER and Forza Horizon are OPEN WORLD GAMES. Not STATIC MAPS ask them HOW THEY DID IT and DO THE SAME!
6 is still more than 3-4. And 6 is soon completely outdated, 6 is currently the minimum requirement for most newest games. So most ppl will have 8 core CPU’s soon.
Even the latest consoles have 6 core CPU’s. There is no excuse to only utilize 3-4 of them in the year 2023. There are games that even scale up to 20 cores, like Cyberpunk 2077. If they release games for computer, they also have to make sure that the game runs decent on computer and not just port it completely lazy 1:1 to PC and call it a day.
I am annoyed that the game is badly optimized, i am not just complaining because of me. I want all PC players to have fun and not having to limit the game to 60 FPS because it’s optimized like a game from 6+ years ago.
I have that rig, not that it matters much:
Windows 11 Pro
R9 5950x (Stock Clocks)
RTX 3080 (10 GB V-RAM)
32 GB 3600 MHZ RAM CL14 (B-Die)
Samsung 990 Pro 2 TB with Heatsink
It doesn’t make sense that an open world game is less CPU heavy than a game with a static map. They need to fix this, simple as that. Not everybody wants to play the game with 60 FPS like a caveman from 10 years ago, when most ppl still had 60 HZ LCD monitors.
you do realize majority of gamers are on console and use 60hz tv lol. most people dont have a 2000-3000$ pc set up. i agree the games poor optimized but they arent gonna scale it up that much for maybe 5% of player base
If they release games with bad optimization like this, i would prefer it if they didn’t release it for PC at all. If they don’t fix this mess of a game, i will never buy another FM that is for sure.
Ppl not only buy games for PC because they don’t own a console, but also because the games can be played with higher FPS. The more FPS well and modding are the only reason i play games on PC. If they can’t deliver that, why even release games for the PC?
I thought with the latest console gen, devs would finally start optimizing their games better. But nope they are still lazy and only put minimum effort into it.
Using more cores doesn’t increase your fps… In most cases the GPU is the bottleneck anyway and here the game is even set to fixed frames.
What should they do with your cores? Running extra calculations just for fun and to fully utilize your cpu?
You have the carphysics wich is probably the heaviest thing and little bit “ai” animations and stuff.
For a multiplayer game u want people running same physics so yeah just start some other applications to make your cpu 16/32x99%
I get bottlenecked by low CPU core usuage not by my GPU. If the game would take advantage of at least 8 cores, i could most probably play with up to 120 FPS without stuttering. But you don’t seem to understand the concept of multithreading. That is was DX12 is for, the game doesn’t take ANY advantage of it.
Also i don’t play Multiplayer so i couldn’t care less about MP physics.
They really need to improve MT/HT performance. The CPU is clearly the bottleneck as DLSS is not even increasing but decreasing FPS performance. So why putting all the RT bells and whistles in the game, when you cannot run them, because one (and the only) of your cores is at 100%.
Something is definitely not right…Horizon runs an open map and Motorsport has little “biomes” for each circuit yet im able to run 144fps @ 40% GPU usage where motorsport runs 70-80fps with the GPU pegged out.
There’s definitely room for improvements and the Series S and X both have 8 core 16 thread CPUs, so any improvements made to multithread performance would benefit them besides PCs.
