FH5 Rally Adventure expansion now available

Have past FH games changed up the banter based on who was leading in one on one races? Raced Alejandra a couple times, and when she was ahead she’d say something like “you need to cut some corners”, but when I was ahead I’d say “who’s the fastest in the family” or she’d say “good pass”.

Really not liking how many courses are just reversed to be classed as unique, didn’t realise it on my first time through yesterday but nearly every track is reversed either in the same race type or in Grim Reapers.

Unless I’ve missed something Orogrande is the only truly unique track within the standard stuff, the only others are the team champ routes + the Goliath.

Edit: I did miss something, even Orogrande isn’t unique, Rugged Dunes is it’s reverse.

So ignoring padding with reverses + rally/race we actually only have 18 unique routes here.

If they’re all doubled up, and there are 24 regular routes, wouldn’t that be 12 unique routes, plus 3 champion races and the Goliath for 16?

I did start to notice that a number of routes ended at the start of another.

Cheers, although it’s now waiting approval.

Wow, what a fantastically composited map with seriously the best roads to drive on in Horizon history.
At least from my perspective, the car physics with respect to how it feels on dirt and sand is much improved and is more manageable, it even feels different when it rains on these surfaces.

Graphically the expanded map is as good if not better than the base game with the rock exposures and jungle areas being particular highlights. It brings similar sorts of areas to those much loved in FH4 such as the disused train depo sort of area, and certain aspects from FH1 such as red cliff side roads and a power station looking thing.

Again it’s a well polished experience from a driving perspective and the audio isn’t too bad either.

I have to agree with @Salfox69 that compelling players to have finished the final race in the expansion before we can compete in the weekly championships is a poor decision.

I’ve paid for the expansion and intend to work through it as and when I get the time. I do not personally care about completing every weekly event but nor do I feel I should be denied the option to do an event I would find fun, just because I haven’t jumped through all the expansion hoops yet.

Thanks, I kinda figured that out on my own.

I can’t see any reason why this post was flagged?

There is a certain group of people on these forums who will flag any post they dislike or are offended by. They contribute nothing to this forum in doing so. Why they chose this post in particular, I will never know.

And I doubt they get reprimanded for it.

Really ? None of you can see the reason ? You don’t have to be from Regina (Saskatchewan, Canada… or thereabouts  ) to guess what probably got it flagged (for no real reason I agree, but, yeah, there you go, “forums” ) But, I’m only guessing

…wait, is my sarcasm radar off again ?

Agreed. I rushed through HW too quickly. I’m taking my time on this one.

To be fair, there is a suggestion thread about running routes in reverse.

So gotta give it to pgg for implementing that…

O.o - didn’t think I needed the /s but whaddyaknow

True, it would be great if they could continue this on the main map by reversing the routes, as we’ve suggested for over a year now. I think what people take exception to is when they simply reverse the routes but classify them as unique.

Not dressing them up as unique by giving them different names + using most of them in a different race type though.

WRC+ DR both use reverse courses but don’t try pulling that, they just name them ‘course name + reverse’ or in DR’s case occasionally ‘course name + descent/ascent’.

I like all the courses in the DLC but I don’t like the act of them trying to bloat how many there actually is.

That’s fair. If they’d said x amount of routes + reverse courses then I’d see that as a bigger bonus than them trying to bloat numbers to look better.

As the person who started that suggestion (or at least started one of them before Max may have merged them), reverse routes being counted as separate routes was not what I intended.

The game developers can call the reverse routes anything they want. Call them another separate track. Call them variant x of track y. I don’t really care. Just include them in the game.
