FH5 Rally Adventure expansion now available

This is all based on assumption:
It is my belief that the map will be about twice the size of the comparison above. By the drag strip there are what looks like solar panels, if you compare them to the panels on the mainland theyre about half the size. The hairpin in the canyon on the dlc maps compared to the canyon hairpin on the mainland, again is about half the size and in the photos it seems to have roughly the same dimensions. Also the bike track if its accurate to the above comparison would be like a 3/4 mile long bike track, heck, ive seen bmx tracks longer than that

It might be a fun map but it’s basically the same as FH1, 2 and 4’s rally expansions. So what’s the point?

I think it’ll be a combination of dirt races and cross-country races, if the Hot Wheels expansion is anything to go by.

If there a race combining CC & Dirt its gona be a new experience.

Interesting

I didn’t mean I expected them to combine the race types, just that I expected both race types on the new map.

There’s not a lot of difference between the two. Really. Just throw in a few grassy patches on a dirt race. Or a few dirt trails on a grassy race. Doesn’t take an engineering degree in computer science to cut and paste those changes in a graphics program.

Looking at the map it seems we won’t get any type of circuit racing (road or dirt). This may be fun for a one-time playthrough, but almost no replay value.

What’s the point of this? Is it going to be like an autocross track? Like the old track back in FM1? That might be cool. Especially given it’s dirt.

Maybe for the Sierra and Polaris cars. Or maybe PGG has a huge surprise for us??

Aahahahaha! :rofl::laughing::rofl::laughing::rofl:

You make me laugh! That huge surprise is they actually did design something from the ground up, brand new to Forza. And that was a bike track we can’t use because WE DON’T HAVE ANY BIKES!

But asphalt racing is rally racing. Practically half of the WRC calender is asphalt racing. As long as it’s not a track (ie a real road) it’s a potential rally track.

@ziperrPL few to no circuits is also true to rally racing. The only circuits in rally are super special stages (actual name not being coy) and there is at most one super special stage per rally, if any at all, out of 10+ stages.

Rally adventure. Of course tarmac is rally, but it doesn’t feel like much of an adventure from what we already have.

But that doesn’t mean that we need to get a map without circuits, right?
Don’t get me wrong. I’m happy with that theme and I get the idea behind rally stages, but we could still have some circuits. I would even go with same ratio of circuit-sprint tracks like on main map. Maybe a bit more biased to sprints, but never would get rid of circuits.

It’s all conjecture and speculation at this point. Just hold your disappointment until it drops or the powers that be dribble more teasers.

A part of me really does wish they’d lean into the theme and do sprints only (or very few circuits) but that would require them to allow us to string multiple events together just like in real rally. Since PGG has definitively proven that they’re incapable of making decisions that make any sort of sense or serve the racing experience, or even care that the racing experience right now is way too much menu time for the actual time spent racing, I’m 90% sure this isn’t going to happen.

So yeah, I guess what I’m saying is I want circuits too. But only because I have zero faith that PGG is capable of correctly serving the theme. They kind of already proved that they won’t with that car list for their so called rally expansion. 1 car from WRC’s rich history, rest are just offroaders.

To tell the truth, I thought that the new Rally expansion will be bigger and better than previous titles. But the map size shows off as it does which makes a statement.

The size of it, kinda compares well to FH3’s Blizzard Mountain as that and FH5’s Rally Adventure will be equal as if the map size/scale looks identical. You know, I love to cruise around the Asphalts mostly, feels like realism on some country driving.

If you’re thinking about FH1’s Rally DLC, there is a difference between that and the recent FH5 Rally DLC, which looks improvised with Baja Offroad experiences, as well as an Open world exploration like FH2, 3, & 4’s expansions. FH1’s Rally is just different stages, which are not connected to the base game’s map.

And hey, I understand that we don’t get a City DLC. Maybe the next new game will have it so, it will be a long wait. I hope the Rally Adventure will be worth enough and can’t wait to see how well the new expansion performed.

Lastly, the gameplay reminded me of DiRT games and my Dad used to play WRC and DiRT on PC. When I showed him the new FH5 Rally Adventure, he was surprised and we’re both looking forward to it. I guess it inspires him playing Rally games as i’ve seen.

Perhaps it’s maybe a trick of persepctive, but Blizzard Mountain’s map looks way more dinky compared to Rally Adventure’s map.

So many of the previous dlcs they would say what the map size is or road count is or total road length is before release. (I mean come on, with the hotwheels dlc they told us how many miles of water there is before release) The fact that this information seems almost purposefully omitted makes me think that the size of this dlc will be substantially smaller than many of us are expecting. But dont worry, smaller dlc doesn’t mean smaller price tag

I am sure the total road count will be an Achievement of some sort, so I guess we can wait 2 weeks and find out via another blog.

I’m kind of dreading another grindy buggy pointless engagement exercise of find all the roads achievement and really hoping they just skip the charade.
