Connection issue reports after August 2024 update

This topic is being opened to monitor for any common causes related to connection and server issues. New individual topics will be merged here; if we find a common cause we may move the related topics into a separate topic for tracking purposes.

All connection issues should be reported to Forza Support via ticket so your case can be investigated. This topic also helps us monitor emerging issues.

INFORMATION FROM FORZA SUPPORT

  • As with any bug, the first troubleshooting step is to quit your game and restart your device to see if the issue clears.
  • If the issue persists after a restart, read the “Multiplayer, Online, and Network Connection Troubleshooting” article at Forza Support. This article provides steps to troubleshoot various types of connection issues on both PC and console.
  • If the article does not help resolve your connection issue, we’re asking players to report their issue details in this topic and upvote it to help alert the team to emerging issues that are preventing players from getting into the game and features.

INFORMATION WE NEED FROM PLAYERS

Include the following details when posting here:

  • The date and time when you first experienced the issue. You can use the Insert Date/Time feature in the top edit bar of your reply, or provide a relative time (‘an hour after the Autumn season changed’)
  • Your game version (to confirm you’ve updated successfully)
  • Your game edition and device (such as Premium or Cloud, Windows/Steam/console (and which console)
  • Account permissions and sharing
  • Your region and language setting
  • Whether you are using a VPN to connect
  • Whether the connection issue is specific to multiplayer, certain features, or the entire game
  • Screenshots and/or Video of error messages if you can provide them
  • Confirm that you have attempted to quit/restart your game and whether that cleared the issue.
  • Whether this is consistent in the same circumstances or apparently random
  • Note if you have submitted a related ticket at Forza Support.

Any updates on whether this is being worked on or if a fix is due?

Tried all-sorts but been unable to access the game since Thursday.

Not been able to access the game since Thursday.

Game hangs up at the ‘syncing’ stage.

Gutted as I’m a big Fast Ford fan and was looking forward to ‘getting’ a new Focus.

Tried all the ‘resetting console’ stuff and submitted a ticket, but no idea how to fix it.

Anyone had a similar problem since the update and any ideas to help?

it’s done a few odd things for me, and it’s worse after the update, but force-quitting (Xbox here) and reopening usually fixes it

I see it syncing but it loads into the fallback playlist often, sometimes fully, sometimes partly (which is weird in itself) and I get “poor network conditions” quite a bit (new, not my end)

it was like that before the update but probably less so

I had a screen showing a message like “your other Xbox is taking a long time to sync to the cloud” and now I lost all my cars in the auction house. Had 5 Yaris GR sold for 20mil and not withdrawn the credits aswell as a Hyundai I30N and several other cars gone. @T10ManteoMax

put a ticket in at forza support, not t10mm’s role to fix

Yeah, have already, just wondered if anyone else had a similar experience?

Not fun just waiting around to see if I can play my game again (never used to be like this in the ‘old days’ worst thing that could happen was the save corrupting)!

Was having the same problem as you before the update.

Now I can’t get on at all though!

Have you tried loading the game while disconnected from the internet? For me, if my local save is ok I would make a change to update it so I could confidently skip the sync, or trick the sync into just letting me select my local save. I’m not sure if this is good advice for everyone since manipulating saves can be risky but it’s what I would try.

I can’t see that making an offline save and forcing that one to be used is wrong. Of course, I don’t know but it’s your machine and your internet connection, you make the saves you want.

Thing is, the save system cannot differentiate between a save that’s got a different time because you used the game without an internet connection because you unplugged it rather than the internet being down.

Game won’t load even when it’s not connected to the internet.

The Monthly Participation Time Of The Rivals, Which Is Not Displayed On The Leaderboard, IS BACK!!!

Yesterday I managed to get a good time for the Ford Fiesta and Dodge Durango, it was registered in the leaderboard. But today, when I wanted to continue working on the remaining two: Toyota Camry and Lucid Sapphire, I noticed that the time for Durango and Fiesta had disappeared. I tried to repeat this, but the time for Ford and Dodge is no longer counted. As a result, I completed it for Camry and Sapphire without any enthusiasm and it has been registered in the leaderboard so far. But I’m absolutely not sure that it won’t disappear tomorrow. I don’t see any point in trying to improve my time. The only thing that pleases me in this situation is that at least I was able to get 4 points for completing all 4.

Well, that’s disappointing to hear. I had multiple connection issues but the times ultimately displayed, unlike before.

My time for Dodge and Ford was also registered, but today it’s gone.
So far, it has been registered for Toyota and Lucid.
I’ll check it tomorrow, maybe it will be lost for all four (Ford/Dodge/Toyota/Lucid).

Admittedly, I haven’t checked back since I set those times, so assuming they are still there.

Actually, I’m on XSX, but also haven’t confirmed if the times reset. That will be pretty unfortunate if that’s the case as I had set some pretty decent times.

Might want to join aforementioned topic as to not mix the two different issues up and bury those who are experiencing the issue listed by the title (eg. connection-related)

The topic I was referring to was merged here by the mods, not me. This actually happens quite frequently, particularly with issue reports. Have had it happen & titles changed to completely different issues than what was originally reported.
