Connection issue reports after October 2024 update

This topic is being opened to monitor for any common causes related to connection and server issues. New individual topics will be merged here; if we find a common cause we may move the related topics into a separate topic for tracking purposes.

All connection issues should be reported to Forza Support via ticket so your case can be investigated. This topic also helps us monitor emerging issues.

INFORMATION FROM FORZA SUPPORT

  • As with any bug, the first troubleshooting step is to quit your game and restart your device to see if the issue clears.
  • If the issue persists after a restart, read the “Multiplayer, Online, and Network Connection Troubleshooting” article at Forza Support. This article provides steps to troubleshoot various types of connection issues on both PC and console.
  • If the article does not help resolve your connection issue, we’re asking players to report their issue details in this topic and upvote it to help alert the team to emerging issues that are preventing players from getting into the game and features.

INFORMATION WE NEED FROM PLAYERS

Include the following details when posting here:

  • The date and time when you first experienced the issue. You can use the Insert Date/Time feature in the top edit bar of your reply, or provide a relative time (‘an hour after the Autumn season changed’)
  • Your game version (to confirm you’ve updated successfully)
  • Your game edition and device (such as Premium or Cloud, Windows/Steam/console (and which console)
  • Account permissions and sharing
  • Your region and language setting
  • Whether you are using a VPN to connect
  • Whether the connection issue is specific to multiplayer, certain features, or the entire game
  • Screenshots and/or Video of error messages if you can provide them
  • Confirm that you have attempted to quit/restart your game and whether that cleared the issue.
  • Whether this is consistent in the same circumstances or apparently random
  • Note if you have submitted a related ticket at Forza Support.

Remember to upvote this topic if you are experiencing an issue, whether you provide details or not.

New topics about connections issues will be merged here, which means your subject line will not transfer, so be sure to include your details in the body of your post which you can edit after the post has been merged. If you are experiencing the same issue as a previous post, feel free to Quote it.

This topic is only for connection issues that occur after the most recent content update; all other issues should be reported in separate topics.

Cannot connect to horizon server. All internet good. Fh4 is good just not fh5

Is this a “new” issue, but I find some serious jagging in livery lines now?

Also the “Outer Lip” color of the rim disappears now, when speed exceeds a certain point. Making the whole rim the same base colour.

Each day I resume Forza Horizon 5, it has become gradually slower to bootup, and in-game it’s now not letting me get more Forzathon Points from Horizon Arcade events because they cut off. -_-’ It wasn’t like this on me ever since I began playing the game from the very start in July, but now…it’s just being so annoying than ever, either the game itself, the internet connection or both even, not working efficient as it should (as far as “online-only” games are concerned, but TBH I am never happy with games like this that require connecting to the internet just to be able to play them, let alone getting together with real players).

…Why is this?

Why is FH5 and connection being so unreasonable now? Each day I resume Forza Horizon 5, it has become gradually slower to bootup, and in-game it’s now not letting me get more Forzathon Points from Horizon Arcade events because they cut off. -_-’ It wasn’t like this on me ever since I began playing the game from the very start in July, but now…it’s just being so annoying than ever, either the game itself, the internet connection or both even, not working efficient as it should (as far as “online-only” games are concerned, but TBH I am never happy with games like this that require connecting to the internet just to be able to play them, let alone getting together with real players).

…Why is this?

I’m using the vanilla game, no mods, no special liveries, nothing but the original game. I already verified files and tried reinstalling the game.

Rewind crashes the game: 100% consistent. Any attempt to Rewind, no matter the track/race/event.

Saving a Reply crashes the game: Same, 100% consistent.

Also, trying to view a reply shows the camera somewhere not in the race and cannot use any of the transport buttons.

I discovered the Rewind crashes at least 6 months ago.

The replay crash, I found lately because In tried saving one due to the fact replay was been buggy (bad sound, later on the bad camera) from day one since I got the game around year or 1.5 years ago.

This with two systems:

5900X / ASUS X750E / 64GB RAM / 4090 Aorus Master.

9950X3D / Gigabyte X870E / 4090 Aorus Master.

Windows 11 24H2

All latest version of the game as well as drivers. GPU Driver wise I’ve been across many many driver versions and the bugs were always the same.

About frame pacing in general (on both systems):

This game has a stuttery frame pacing nature no matter what, is not too bad but noticeable. I needed to put a frame cap to have it running smooth.

still getting the no-eventlab-names issue when booting the game “from scratch” (ie, not quick resume) - it’s about half the time; the eventlabs appear to work okay in the menu but the playlist events cannot be done

restarting usually sorts this out first time
