That’s what FM7 is, its Horizon version 3.1. Whether you like FM7 or not will depend on how much you liked the arcade FH3, because FM7 has very little Motorsport to it and lots of arcade, IMO. So far, I think FM6 was better in ever way. I hated Horizon and I really dislike FM7 so far. Maybe that will change in time, but I doubt it. I dislike almost every aspect of FM7 and I especially think the divisions are terrible, I want e through x classes back again.
Try turning off the assists.
I never race with any assists, that was the first thing I did was to turn them all off. I can control the car just fine. In fact, I think its too easy to control the car. The cars grab the road better and are more stable in this game then they were in FM6. Understeer and some other physics are still a little shaky, but the physics are good overall. Its just the way game is set up, its absolutely awful. Buying this game was a major waste of money. I’ll come back in a couple of months and see if they make any changes, but this is currently utter garbage.
No Assists, Unbeatable AI, get one of those muscle cars with rear wheel drive, and show us how easy it is.
I must be in the minority because im really enjoying FM7. At first I thought the physics were arcadey but when you really push many of the cars you appreciate the handling. Also the cars feel very different to each other.
As for the division leaderboards/hoppers im loving it and I shall explain why. As a hotlapper/tuner even I became sick of building unrealistic silly missle cars for tracks such as Monza. I also became fed up of having many cars in my garage being idle because only a few were competitive. At least now all cars can be used for racing online and hotlapping.
I must admit at first I was disappointed in FM7. However now I have spent many hrs racing online, single player events I am appreciating many aspects of the game. I believe Turn 10 will roll out all the divisional leaderboards in Rivals mode and also increase the choice in the hoppers. If anyone thinks this is an arcade game then go and try and hit a 1.44 in Spec rivals events around Laguna Seca!
Try Project Cars 2 if you want more of a simulator. I switch between FM7 and Project Cars 2 depending on what I feel like doing
If you set up the wheel and assists right, this game is closer to Project Cars on a wheel than FM6 ever was. To be honest, class based racing is way more arcade than division based racing. There was a post from a guy saying that upgrading a Datsun to be as strong as a Ferrari was “the soul of Forza.” Can’t agree with that.

I get that you aren’t into the tuning side of Forza. That’s fine.
One of the defining features of Forza (aside from 7) was that there are a lot of different ways to play. The ability to upgrade a car from a C class, for instance, to an A class and configure that car to your driving style has been in every Forza Motorsport game to date (again except 7). Now, even though you may not have used it, that is still a defining feature of the franchise. The ability to tune cars in such a way is one of the things that has always made Forza Motorsport stand out from the rest of the pack of racing games. You could also put the very nice painting options in this category. Sure, not everyone uses it, but many do, and it’s a defining feature of the game.
Now, I haven’t called it the “soul” of the game, but I’m sure others have. For me personally, upgrading cars to race in class based rivals was that occupied the vast majority of my time in previous Forza Motorsport titles. Clearly, based on the feedback on these forums, I’m not the only one. When you remove a feature like that, a core feature IMHO, you do have a major issue, and you are changing the very nature of the game. Imagine if suddenly Forza no longer had cars, but instead had Top Fuel Drag boats. That might be a great game, but it wouldn’t be a Forza game. And you would actually see some people on the forums saying “Hey, I really like the boats. This is great” And they’d be right for them, but that wouldn’t change the fact that the core of the game had been gutted. For many right now, this is where we stand with Forza 7 - the core of the game has been gutted.
Now, all of that aside, the fact is that without those rivals, there’s just not much value in Forza 7 for me. So from a purely economic standpoint, it’s just not my game without that. Believe it or not, this saddens me sincerely. I put Forza up as one of my favorite franchises, and have spent a great many hours doing all sorts of racing - rivals, multiplayer, spec races, drags, etc since Forza 1. It disheartens me greatly to see core features removed, and this sadness is compounded by the other missteps like the addition of loot boxes, etc.
Now, once again, homologation is a great addition to Forza, but it should be an addition, not a replacement. And, even if I could just be cool with only having homologation (which I think removes the majority of the fun out of tuning and upgrading) there aren’t even any homologation rivals based on track and division.
I haven’t seen anyone here attempt to tell you that “you must race my way”. Why do you keep trying to tell other people that they must race your way, when this wasn’t an issue in any previous Forza? Many of those people will never come back to Forza, so it isn’t going to do anything but diminish the playerbase and future income of Turn10 to have these people go. In the end, all it does (the removal of class based rivals/hoppers) is diminish the franchise, even for players who never use that mode.
I feel the same.
Upgrading any car I wanted was a massive part of the game and fun for me in FM2,3 and 4. I don’t see any negatives for the old class system in career at least.
i agree with you… tbe game has def been watered down. the finess thatt you needed in fm6 is gone… i like to call this game horizonsport with homo features
FH3 was a really fun game.
There are not more than 100 locked cars and silly homologation systems.
However, had an excellent blueprint and a storefront.
There are people who claim that “FM7 is FH3.1”.
However, it is just an act of defiling a wonderful work just because it hates the arcade style.
FH3 is superior to FM7 in terms of stability and completeness as a game.
Other than the fact they are both a driving game Fm7 and H3 are completely different tbh.
FM6 and Horizon 3 did leave some high benchmarks. In the coming weeks and months, I believe they have their work all cut out.
You can’t really compare FM7 to FH3. Completely different game.
You can’t really compare FM7 to FH3. Completely different game.
I suppose its being compared to H3 mostly from a technical achievement standpoint, completeness and level of polish as opposed to just gameplay/physics.
FM4 was best
There is really no comparison between FH3 and FM7 in terms of car “feel”. I have been playing FH3 since launch, and I’ve been playing FM5 for the last month, and it is very different to both.
The worst things in FM7 is the fact that you can ramming opponents and cutting turns without penalty. An aberration to the Motorsport.
Not sure this is entirely fair to FH3 , at least in Fh3 there was solid multiplayer options.
FH3 is a great game. To compare FM7 to FH3 is not possible. I’m going straight back to it as soon as I’ve finished career in FM7. It contains features that are missing from FM7 and the UI is excellent. No comparison in my eyes and FH3 wins hands down.
