How does fm7 compare to fm6?

I am new to motorsport series and tried out fm6 on gamepass just now. Before you get on your high horse, I will mention that I am aware of the braking method in fm6 and the steering scaling to speed. I play assetto corsa competizione on a controller and enjoy it every bit. I wanted to get fm7 but the gamepass only includes fm6 so I tried it out.
My short experience in fm6 was a nightmare. It went from obvious cheating bots(even on low difficulties) to crippling maneuverability by steering scaling to speed. The cars are so horribly unresponsive. The steering issue has to go. It is a horrendous affair. Whose hare brained idea was it that such a thing helps controllers?? I play ACC on one without this junk and it is beautiful. I wanted to get fm7 because it looked like the only decent game that had good physics and nice graphics that my pc can run well. I get frame drops in ACC on low settings but 60fps on high in fm6.
Somebody tell me if this issue is rampant in fm7 as well.
Also I want to know about the online section of it. Are the cars restricted like a real track sim or does this game still follow the useless junk of a class system from horizon? Because that kind of class never makes for fair races. I am looking here because fh3 nd fh4 were rubbish with this kind of thing. Just NFS with more physics.
