FFB, is it fixed? UP: [PC] Thank the gods, Pray for [XBOX]

if something is terrible and you know its bad and you fix it, you are generally very proud of your work and would want to talk about it/show off how much its improved.

GT is doing this.
Pcars is doing this.
T10 isnt doing this.

Why?

We can’t provide an answer, only speculation.

The big news at E3 was of course 4K. You’d expect that. Turning out a racing game with this amount of content running at 4K and 60FPS is quite a big deal and from a development perspective it’s one of those landmark achievements particularly on a console.

Since E3 there hasn’t really been any chest beating about anything, not even the graphics. Other than the car list being dribbled out it’s all rather quiet. I’ll wait and see. I don’t think speculating helps anyone.

Yes, now we have to play the waiting game. This weekend they will show more of fm7 but i think that will be nothing wheel/physics/ffb related.

The reason to complain is due to skepticism. They put out an update improving ffb during horizon 3/apex/fm6. They added a few sliders. The underlying ffb was still trash. This is 100% the reason of this thread to speculate. If you dont like people’s skepticism on a hot topic such as ffb improvements in a driving game dont go to the thread. Why did you come to this thread? Just to see 100 people saying “i hope hes right” “Awesome, cant wait.”

FFB has always been sub par on the xbox 1 variations of the game, and still wasnt good before that, difference being much fewer had wheels, and few had played anything else to find out if the ffb was good or not.

So since you can’t complain for the FFB of FM7 you complain due to skepticism?
Sorry but sounds ridiculous to me…
Come on they never had a partnership with Fanatec engineers in any of their title, now can’t you really wait to try it before complain instead to complain at all costs?

Man I wish I could try the game because it really only takes 15 seconds to see if it’s improved or not. Is it official that a demo is being released?

Same here mate, i only use wheel so trust me i wish i could try it too.
Probably the demo will be released a couple of week before the retail version.

15 seconds…

They actually partnered with Fanatec on FM4 and fanatec was the official wheel of xbox.

It’s called speaking out. We are basically just saying we doubt anything is going to change because that’s historically what has happened. If you are not happy with something and dont say anything why would anything change? My statement is, its garbage and the only way it could get worse is if there was no support for FFB. My statement is also that unless it gets 90% better I will not be purchasing fm7, 8, 9, or any iteration going forward until the ffb is near the industry standard.

Why are you so against saying anything negative about the ffb system? It’s obvious that you enjoy racing games as you have played most of them available on console and even a few on pc. This thread is not asking for wheel to be faster than pad, its not exclusive of anyone and I just dont understand why you are fine with the way it is. Honestly even in the best games on the next iteration I expect improvement. I dont care about 4k… that doesnt interest me and great on them for achieving it, but if everyone else was on 10k and they just got to 4k people would be a little upset wouldnt they?

I never told i won’t improvement on FFB in any of my posts, i only use wheel in racing games since Nascar 2003 and now i only use wheel in FM6 even if FFB is wrong and times are higher than pad.
I obviously want improvements on FFB as anyone who use a wheel but complaining about something you don’t know is something i can’t understand.
I can understand you and others want improvements on force feedback because i want it too but this way looks like you’re spreading a false propaganda and in my opinion it’s wrong.
I will agree with you if after i’ll try the demo FFB will be a disaster even if i’ll buy the game anyway because i still enjoy anyway to play FM6 with wheel…

I can respect that and could see how you would feel that way. Around here history tends to repeat itself, which is the reason for my disdain even tho greenwalt has claimed its fixed… not even sure what that means, and is also admitting that it is broken.

Well put Baby Cow, while I understand were Dylan is comming from that we don’t know how it is yet, but that is the direct result of T10 being tight lipped and their ignorance of the issue in the past, hence people want answers, hence this thread were people may complain because T10 are not giving anything to hope for apart from “YES”-Dan Grenawalt.

@Blue028: Of course I’m picking up FM7 at launch because between FM6 and PC1, FM6 was by far the better overall game. Still, I will eventually have both and you never know, it could influence my decisionmaking on the next game… or it could not and I’ll just buy both again.

@PTG Baby Cow: I’m willing to bet that Fanatec is not the official wheel of Xbox anymore because their wheels are so super expensive and not really in the budget of most users. To put it into perspective, I can get a decent Thrustmaster wheel for XB1 with FFB for half of Fanatec’s least expensive option.

I’m going to debate that over the next few months if an Xbox One dedicated wheel is best for me and my budget moving forward. FM7 initially will be played on controller and on a low end 360 wheel through console streaming or PC if my machine is strong enough. I’ll also keep an eye on this thread to see how the wheel use actually works in the new game. This whole thread is speculation at this point.

I was mentioning that because people are saying how fanatecs engineers are reported to be working directly with forza to improve ffb.

In terms of price you get what you pay for. I agree that they do not really have an entry level wheel which is what most people playing on xbox are wanting. However with the increase of racing titles on xbox that support ffb the mid grade and support for high end is now necessary. I have owned a ms ffb wheel, thrustmaster tx, and currently own the csl e (the cheapest fanatec option) and the csl E is double the wheel the tx is, nevermind the t150 or whatever the cheaper option is. The only comparable wheel in thrustmasters lineup is the ts-pc racer and even still thrustmaster doesnt make a set of load cell pedals. Then you have the other cheap option of the g920 and the cheapest fanatec option is def 5x better wheel, so the price is still in line for the product you are receiving.

Baby Cow,
I don’t always agree with what your opinion is but always respect it.
I also tried to explain the values of having a Fanatec wheel only to have someone claim I was blowing smoke and I was a Fanatec employee…LOL ( I am not! )
Bottom line is if you are happy with what you have great. If I am willing to pay extra for the ability to achieve my expectations and that should be my option. I wish everyone could try a Fanatec product and they would understand there is a big difference.
I owned a TX wheel at the launch of the Xbox One as Fanatec did not have a compatible wheel at launch and upgraded to Fanatec as soon as one became available so I have tried both.
The TX is a decent wheel…smaller in diameter but effective just very basic. The Fanatec, esp the CLub Sport V2 gives me so many more options and I like my bells and whistles.
I also know you hate the FFB in Forza, a captain obvious moment here…LOL! The Fanatec wheel options give me many more adjustments on the FFB than the TX wheel does. It makes it feel better…not perfect, but better. Yes there is much room for improvement but I find it believable at least. I really enjoy the Firza series.
I was sorry to hear that you will not be buying Forza 7 as I love the tunes they offer in the PTG club…my favorites! I will be looking for the tunes posted by the members that do purchase the game though and am very anxious for the launch of Forza.

I have a csl elite too. Did you try the new beta update?

I will be very surprised if playing with console streaming through a PC has proper wheel support. And if it does, I would expect the lag would be frustrating to the point of making the game on playable. Please report back if you have success and how well it works. Not that I would do it,but I’m curious to see how it works out.

My first choice will be through the PC itself. If that fails then I will try streaming. Recent info from T10 seems to suggest min sped for the game is lower than what we’d thought so you never know. Eventually I’d like something better but I’m super cheap AND I’ll have to justify another wheel to the wife.

It is accurate, T10 have said zip about information regarding what improvements they have made to the FFB.
