Why is it that in FH5 you have to do a few events in the festival playlist to be able to get 20 points for a new car. But in FH4 all I had to do to get 1 new car was to do 1 seasonal championship.
I remember just doing 1 championship to get the new Jaguar I-Pace in FH4, and a few other occasions.

It’s been a long time since I played FH4 but I seem to recall it took longer to earn the seasonal reward car.
I can earn 20 points in FH5 in 15 minutes or less, sometimes without even needing to complete a race.

Usually it was pretty quick to get the first seasonal prize car in fh4 in particular with the series rival and ranked qualification already completed.
I think the biggest difference is in fh4 they regularly put them as rewards for the championships, games and trial, and also included them in the forzathon shop. I don’t know why it’s nearly non-existent in fh5. There’s so many repeats available they could give out.

It was longer, because there was a lot less to do. FH4 only had championships, PR stunts, Daily Forzathon, Weekly Forzathon, Playground Games, the Trial, and Horizon Promo (which came late in development). FH5 now has the Eliminator, Hide and Seek, Treasure Hunt, Collectibles, EventLab, and Horizon Tour in addition to all the modes from FH4 plus special events on both DLC maps every week.
In FH4, doing the championships was compulsory to unlock anything if you played single player only, which heavily prolonged play time. Nowadays, you don’t even need to do a championship to unlock the first car every week. You can get by doing most of the smaller stuff, even on single player.

Their comment was about the reward for an individual seasonal championship. I do think this should happen in fh5.
Regarding fh4, completing the monthly events meant the stunts and weekly forzathon was all that was needed for the first (50%) seasonal prize car. Sometimes the weekly was a pain but often overlapped the trial or championship.
@Runoff1999 The fh5 playlist is friendlier to offline only players
I agree. I think that’s one of the better choices they’ve made with it.

I think there also has to be a distinction between newly-added cars vs. older exclusive cars as rewards. I started playing FH4 later in the Playlist’s life, but as far as I can tell most of the newly-added cars required a certain completion percentage, whereas the championship rewards were repeat cars from older Playlists. If you were a newer player, they may have been new to you (I got most of my rare cars that way too), but they weren’t for players who were there from the beginning. In the same way, FH5 usually keeps its new cars as the main season/series points rewards. The only main difference is that FH5 hasn’t ever put older exclusive cars as ordinary championship rewards, which is a big downgrade.

FH4 had the eliminator as well, in 2019.
I remember that a few of the new cars I got was from doing one seasonal championship in FH4. Like the:
Jaguar I-Pace, Jeep Gladiator, Lexus ISF, Lexus LFA, Lexus RCF and etc.
But I checked the internet and it showed that the I-Pace, Lexus ISF and Lexus LFA requires 50%, but I don’t remember doing 50%, because I didn’t really bother getting 50%.
Unless I had some issue or glitch I didn’t notice, which would be very weird.
This was like 4-5 years ago.
I’m wondering if I did et 50%, but just didn’t notice. I would have to check the history.

They likely were all available again as rewards for championships etc. The Gladiator is in the current set of repeating seasonal events.

Oh I so hope to see more HTF cars as SC awards, especially when they decided to give us a backstage pass at 40pts instead of a car. Besides, STOP PUTTING WHEELSPIN CARS INTO SEASON MILESTONE REWARDS! This series’ seasonal milestone is completely wasted thanks to the two rather terrible reward cars.
