Seasonal Summary: Spring Series 61 in Forza Horizon 4
Don’t Miss the Incredible Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z
Spring has arrived in Britain which means it’s the final week of Series 61! This is your opportunity to secure the 1990 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z in Forza Horizon 4, a car which celebrates the Camaro’s involvement in the International Race of Champions series, a one-make stock car series that put the focus on driver competition rather than car preparation.
Residing under this Camaro’s long, louvered hood is a 245 horsepower 5.7-liter V8, while thick anti-roll bars front and back help the Camaro achieve highly impressive skidpad numbers —around 0.90 lateral G-force. Camaro fans can unlock the IROC-Z by earning 80% Completion for the overall series on the Festival Playlist, and experience performance that only this ultimate third generation Camaro can provide.
This week’s Festival Playlist events and rewards are available until Thursday, June 1.
SERIES REWARDS:
- 50% Completion – Horizon Backstage Pass
- 80% Completion – 1990 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z
SPRING REWARDS:
- 50% Completion – Horizon Backstage Pass
- 80% Completion – 1957 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa
Backstage Pass Note: Following our March 2023 FH4 update to set future Festival Playlist rewards, players may continue to not receive the Backstage Pass from 50% series completion. While the team focuses on FH5 content, there are no plans to work on fixing the FH4 Backstage Pass reward issue at this time.

Trial middle race is wet, I think the other two were dry. It’s as bad as expected… Pushed out of checkpoints, pushed into buildings not to mention the blocking and force fields… All from drivatars.

Ran it several times with Centenario, AI was pretty ok for me. When we lose it’s mostly teammates who are so far behind, but there’s several times I got rammed off track by teammates in the earlier parts of the races.
Handles pretty well despite being one of the widest car choices.

In the last attempt a full team lost race 1. Race 2 starts with me and 1 other since 4 quit/dced. At the start the other player gets blasted off the side by a drivatar and quits. I win it alone. Race 3 I’m passing a drivatar close to the end knowing I have the points when I get pushed way far left into a building. Maybe next week will be better. Ah well… The rest of the playlist was a lot better.

Some trials are just easier with less people, and sometimes doing it later in the week to avoid the masses can turn out better. It seems the front AI is the fastest in the 1st race while it’s only moderate in the rest, except many players don’t do too well with their cars in the 2nd race.
The street championships were pretty fun this week, I did them both twice with 2 very different cars, the '92 Toyota Supra which was very easy to drive with wide body kit, and the Toyota MR2 SC which is borderline A class with average B grip. The latter was pretty challenging to drive fast but grip is always better for street races.
'92 Supra and M2 Coupe, both are rally/road tunes and good for anything.
For Forzathon Weekly, it was a bit tricky finding a retro saloon that can make the 3 stars jump in S1 900 and has high enough grip for the street race which defaults to wet this spring.
The BMW M3 does it just barely, as long it hits 330km/h and is straight during lift off. Needs a pretty long run up starting from the fast travel board somewhere up the road between a dirt and x-country events.
Might take less effort to load a S2 tune to jump but at least I ended up with a nice S1 tune for the M3.
Edit: MB 190E is another that makes the jump at S1 900 (easier and slightly more leeway) and wins the street race easily, has somewhat lesser grip than the M3

Have the pr stunts been restricted? Thought I used an x class last week. Open to correction
They’re not, the information just states S2 998 always, but you can do them with an X class since forever.

Wow. First trial race was brutal. I was actually desync-ing into trees and invisible objects.
Runaway ai in first.
Team won tho, luck
Second race actually worse. Ai really bad and awful desync hits. Lost badly
First time in a while we lost over all. Really crap events
Many kudos to the player that stuck out my second attempt with me. Got destroyed in first race. Peeps dropped out and same in second race which actually allowed us to win.
Win third race.

I should be thankful the server was being kind to me when I ran it, which isn’t usually the case playing from SE Asia. The desyncs and spastic AI are why I’ve learnt to stay or get away from the AI quickly. It’s dangerous to stay side by side with the AI for too long, better to stay behind and pass quickly when the opportunity arise.

I shared a tune for the 88 BMW M5 FE for the jump specifically. I was getting over 1400ft with a clean run up. The Bentley worked for me too but mine’s not really tuned enough to share yet.

Updated Pagani tune and added one more Trial option

Trial went a bit better today so it’s checked off. Switched to a Centenario for it and found some duplicate tunes that I cleaned up. Tune space is precious.

Run the Trial and OMG what a bunch of brainless people.
Being rammed big time in second and third race, because I won first and they all had fun behind drivatars.
How we actually won I don’t know:
- first race, they were all behind drivatars when I crossed the finish line, end result 1450 vs 1600, we had 150 less points … win
- second race and rammed onto the field twice and being honked too, so I went and explored what fun is to be last, had to be so slow and drive only in first or second gear for most of the race, finally lost with only 800 vs much much more for drivatars
- third race, more pushing into the walls and stairs, so I let them go and drive with drivatars, they drive so much cleaner, this time 1400 vs 1650 for drivatars and again we won
Can we please, pretty please with a cherry on top have an option to drive Trials solo, or with at least half of human drivers?
Edit
Just for the record, I wasn’t slow, my car developed a misfire and gearbox problems after being used as a pinata.

Oh goody, the worst Trial in the entire game is back this week. Time to rage!
The Forzathon was pretty awful this week too. Waste your time driving around for 20 miles, then hit 3 stars on a jump that most of these cars can barely manage even when maxed to S2. I grabbed the highest-PI tune I saw for the M5 FE, and even then I only cleared 1200 feet by hitting a very precise angle on the jump. And then, joy of joy, it’s a Street Scene race through Edinburgh’s terrible right-angle corners in the thing. Ugh.

The Vauxhall Carlton is my go to for the windmill jump. For the street race I use the 190 E in C600. On inexperienced.

Tried the trial once and failed. It was close. Starting in last place every race didn’t help. Might give it another go this weekend. I’ll have to practice with this Centenario I keep hearing about.
Is the Backstage Pass reward working for 50% Season completion, or does the bug affect both Series and Season?
Was planning on hitting 50%, but the Windmill PR Stunt does look to be a real pain, so if there’s no Backstage Pass up for grabs then I won’t bother.

Both I think. I’d have to check back last week.
The windmill was fine I thought. AMG hammer upgraded
