Why would top end speed be a factor on 3 city courses?
Not sure - guess I thought if I could get ahead at the start it might help.
Used my usual Trial settings - Difficulty Unbeatable, Braking Anti-Lock Off, Steering Sim, Traction On, Stability Off, Shifting Manual.
Maybe the lower speed with better Lateral Gs might be as good but I just chose what I thought might work if I got a clean run.
As you know, I don’t consider myself to be any sort of great or even good driver, so I had to make a snap decision.
As long as it works, I’m happy.
Theres a long uphill straight at the beginning of Panoramica but these courses are pretty twisty. Not quite as handling specific as Bola Ocho, but lateral Gs matter on these. The 92 NSX on stock tires I used pulls something like 1.50 Gs at 120 … its a car with usually good stock tires, and I can imagine rallies being the way to go for these.
I did see some respectful teammates in the S1 Retro Supercars championship. I used the stock Enzo rental option so I got an upclose view of how people were driving it. Most were pretty fun. I did have one character drive me outside of the finish gate at Carretera so as to not lose 2nd to the stock option. That was gentlemanly of him.
At my age I can’t remember what I did in the last hour let alone learn tracks - hence why I’m so bad.
I sometimes remember some bits ( just like I watch film for and hour or so then realise I’ve seen it before).
Nice one… good to have a team player that forgets that they’re in a team event.
Yeah I hear ya. Im on the wrong side of 50 now and am already starting to see slippage. The majority of point to point races on roads do favor power-ish type builds but Panoramica is an exception. That and Tunnel Run and … I cant remember. On the flip side, most road circuits come down on the handling side, except for … uh, cant really remember. I think Horizon Mexico is pretty fast. Bahía too maybe. Cathedral, Bola Ocho and Chihuahua are the tighest, with Plaza being close too.
Yup - approaching the dreaded 60 in the not too distant future - if we make it that far.
Back in FH3 it was not to bad to remember tracks but since then the slip’n’slide has gotten way more greasy.
These days I just pick a car and hope for the best.
Lateral Gs are often the first thing I look at but I often make bad choices over Top Speed and handling (which weirdly doesn’t always stack up with the Gs)
I get what you’re saying on handling on circuits though.
At least you’ve still got the brain cells left to remember most tracks, if not all…
Playlist still broken. Championship fails to unlock. This is just now, updated applied and working as Summer events completeted where as before they werent.
Trial, Weekly and Speed Zones/Traps worked fine.
Yes, this is a known issue. Thursday’s hotfix had to be rolled back because it caused instant crashes on trying to start the game on some platforms. Just keep completing the events normally, and once the hotfix is, um, fixed and pushed out again you should get the points rewarded.
stock options, series 44 “High Performance”, week 2 autumn/storm season
[loose basis for approach; cheapest car that’ll do the stunts, least-driven car for races]
weekly “Effortlessly Powerful” – Corvette ‘15 (La Sílica 125.86 mph)
trial “Nimble Ninties” – Jaguar XJ220 (beat 6 robots when I counted 5, then 6; “Ninties”?)
eventlab “Egypt Part 1 - Cairo” – ATS GT ‘18 (looks very good)
eventlab “Level Speedway” – Ford Mustang ‘24 (fine)
speed trap “East Resort” – Taycan S WP (slightly tricky; 217.81 mph)
speed zone “Green Hills” – Ultima 1020 (not that hard; 184.55 mph)
trail blazer “Malpaís” – Toyota Celica’94 (fairly easy; 22.153 s)
championship “Street’d Lightning” – Saleen S7 (easy wins)
championship “Buggy Bug World” – #122 AC Class 1 (easy wins)
championship “A Rally Good Time” – SUBARU STI S209 (easy wins)
RA danger sign “Canyon Snap” – Taycan S WP (easy; 371.35 m)
RA championship “Dancing in the Dirt” – Citroën BX4TC (good car; very easy wins)
HW danger sign “Forest Leap” – Koenigsegg One (easy; 495.12 m)
HW championship “Can Ya Canyon?” – Lambo Gallardo (wins; fairly easy/easy/fairly easy)
The trial didn’t give me any points so I have struggled to get enough points but surely the fix will be fixed.
I’m finding the Cairo EventLab to be pretty unplayable. Lot’s of hard stutters causing crashes, A.I. seems to be having a hard time with it as well… the other EventLab played fine. P.S. noticing more stuttering in general in events… Steam, RTX 3070TI
PC Steam, all points are counted without any problems, there are only 3 daily tasks left to complete
That’s weird. I’ve had some EventLabs with a ton of objects crater my framerate before, but the Cairo one ran fairly smoothly for me.
Is anyone else not getting the points for some of the challenges? Done Nimble Ninties, got the TVR,but not the 10 points!!!
it’s a known problem that should get fixed with points awarded later on
That RA Danger Sign was easy distance-wise, but it kept failing for me when I landed even when I managed to avoid the numerous trees down there. It was like the game was counting hitting a piece of breakable debris as a collision. It took me at least a half-dozen rewinds to get it to register.
I’m patient. And have been completing the playlist. Just don’t forget me when y’all get it fixed. Gotta have my points and all rewards for completing all the playlist
Cheers matey
For future reference, unlock the “Extra Life” in the mastery tree, so the chaotic landing won’t break the skill chain. Cures probably 90% of those failures.
I agree i have only been to get 12 points egen tho i have completed the event
