I thought it was BRZ vs the 86. Since they’re essentially the same thing.
The playlist this week wasn’t too overly annoying other than that one event lab figure 8 on ice that was just chaos, and the poor choice of the tight twisty cobblestone city route for the classic muscle championship. I didn’t touch the trial or any of the other online events given how annoying the trial has been the last few weeks.
Really annoying that the event reward cars are yet again all low value auto show cars that just clutter up my garage and have no value since everyone else is trying to get rid of them.
Also there’s a lot of cars that haven’t been offered as playlist rewards in over a year, but we’ve had other cars that have been offered multiple times, would like to see some of these cars show up again (probably too much to hope that the devs will do away with vehicle exclusivity and just add the cars to the auto show).
yup, both models in theory
Only 4 cars to choose from for this Trial. I personally prefer the 2013 BRZ and GT86 over the newer models.
A pretty light season for tuning. Only 2 main map championships with one only having 2 cars, Divo vs Jesko, and the other one only having 5 or 6 with it being A800 Lotus.

Figured I needed something to work on in between cooking the next few days lol. That is a tough choice for me to. I love both those cars. The brz grew on me…grandma driving had me convinced it was only a dirt car for a while. Till I seen you all a while back use it in that trial…and I put a tune on it. Well at least it’s a slow week. The trials have been odd this month.
This 70’ Buick GSX C’ tune made easy work of the ‘Feeling Santamental’ SC: 312 198 329
I agree!
Been working on the BRZ and 86 tunes this evening with @geistwriter. We have surmised from the thumbnail that the first race is somewhere in the south east side of the map and likely a street race.
With that in mind, we’ve been testing on the Wetland Charge street race. I have to give props to geist for helping me improve my tunes.
He took me in a completely different direction than my initial upgrade choices and it has improved the feel of my tunes immensely.
Really hope Wetland Charge is one of the races because I feel like I’ve become intimately familiar with it during testing.
Now if only I could match geist’s rival times.lol
Following Geist is a good idea, as he usually also has tunes up. I like supporting our forum tuners first if I can. If they can’t do it, I don’t wanna do it.
Definitely, we follow each other and are always going over tuning setups and discussing our weekly stats and just basically chatting about which tunes did well for us and how we’ll approach next seasons events.
His tunes put up amazing download numbers. He’s really helped encourage me and helped improve my tuning.
Getting some Christmas Eve playlist action in, and dear lord these PR stunts are straight butt. Again, why are we getting single-car restrictions well above the car’s natural PI? I just tried that Fiat speed trap with a quick and dirty auto-upgrade, and that still wasn’t close to the goal. So now I have to create some stupid Frankencar just to pass through a single speed trap, and then immediately revert it back to normal. Compelling gameplay.
(And I mean I created an absolute abomination, a D-class car that literally could not turn and was spinning its wheels in 5th gear. This is why I should not be allowed anywhere near the upgrade menu.)
Geist and I have had some epic rivals battles over the last couple of years! Definitely a good person to get tuning ideas from, especially cross country.
Haa, and even the Open Custom task requires upgrading a car two entire PI classes. This is absurd.
If I’m able to get even close to his time he comes back with an improved time. It’s hopeless for me.lol
I generally pick you to follow, you have good times on pretty much every leaderboard, whereas I still have way too many untouched or really old times from 2021
we certainly nailed down the subtle differences between the 4 nearly identical trial cars
The pattern of late seems to be cars with maximum engine and next to no handling. Perhaps if you have throttle control, the Fiat 124 might not be quite that dreadful, but on a keyboard it took a good deal of my limited skill to keep the car from pirouetting wherever it pleased.
The answer to the MR2 was the addition of aero. I tried AWD, wide tyres and as much engine as possible, but corners were still way too sketchy.
The PR stunts (well, some of them) have become majorly annoying for the amount of time that I have to waste on them for the paltry returns that I get. They’re not fun, especially with too much engine and too little handling on a keyboard.
