Festival Playlist events and rewards Apr. 17 - Apr. 24 (Spring S45)

Long post coming here but I hope it’s informative for everybody planning on doing the Gauntlet event…

I’ve split them up based on what I personally think of them, think of them as tiers.

#4 Ford Focus (ESV Aventra) - 18:55.587

It was bittersweet in a sense, anyone who’s been around on the forum for some time may remember this I did not far off 2 years ago…

S1 Class Gauntlet - The tale of a 1,460 mile, 40 off-meta car journey (1679 w/ 46 cars now I guess) - Forza Horizon 5 / FH5 Discussion - Official Forza Community Forums

I put everything into getting the Saleen S1 under the 18 minute mark back then, so when I knew Pleb’s Audi was going to take it off it was a strange feeling, but I made sure to preserve it before I gave the Audi a proper go…

But anyway the cars themselves…

I tried Rock’s Audi given that we all received that message with the build for it not long ago, good car but no front aero makes it understeer a lot, Pleb’s is the tune to use for that, excellent car + tune for S1 Dirt full stop.

The Puma FE is what I’d recommend to anyone who just wants an easy to drive car/tune but even just in general a great choice, easily the most comfortable run I did and still very quick.

Bedlam’s Escort is a lot of fun and he’s a former forum member here, does require quite a bit of driving to get it to fully come together though.

The MG is not super difficult but not a breeze to drive either, honestly I like it personally but not worth it when it doesn’t have the pace to make up for it, Puma as mentioned above went faster + was much more stable.

Everything from the 911 FE to the Manta was :man_shrugging: just fine, 911 FE as solid as it always is.

Even though it looks like it sucks the Exocet FE actually did a really good time considering it can’t even get up to 170mph anywhere throughout the entire course.

And the Focus :man_facepalming: knew something had to be wrong as that’s a great player who’s tune I chose, only found out when I looked at the upgrades myself, no front or rear aero available to install and the stock rear wing is adjustable but gives a pathetic amount of downforce even at max, just 92lbs which any tuner will know is absurdly low in any class, so it’s handling when upgraded to 900PI is diabolical, keep that in A class where it belongs.

Quite a few cars I left out for various reasons, mostly either needing clearly silly builds to reach 900PI or the fact that they can’t get there at all.

Only one I’ll mention is the Hoonigan RS200 who’s potential pace is already on the leaderboard to see hence why I didn’t test it, simply no need to, it’s sat just 0.341 off the WR with ShaggyScroll driving it, I’ve got my own personal little challenge/test for that car planned anyway.

Hopefully this helps at least some people out, anything that gives me incentive to get back on the Gauntlet is always :+1: from me, I’m hoping to set a new PB in A class thanks to this test as well over this weekend.
