Ferarri 250... GTO or Testa Rossa?

Which do you reckon would be a better buy?

Currently you can get the 250 LM for the Forzathon event, but I prefer the 250 GTO

The testa rossa and gto have the same engine, just different body and exhaust, so its basically weather you want a race car or a race car with a roof ? And the 250LM is a totally different car altogether!

I like the 250 GTO better and feel it has more flexibility. Both start in B class but the TR is at the top end of B making it harder to upgrade and keep B. In A class I still like the GTO better and I haven’t messed around with S1+ in either of them. In H2 the TR was my absolute favorite B class and the GTO was my favorite both A and S1.

I like them both but if I could only have one it would be the GTO but eventually I will have multiples of both as I have already run out of things I need/want to buy and the credits just keep piling up.

GTO is definitely more competitive.

Where, A? Certainly not B. The LM trounces the 10-mil GTO in B. (Yeah, I couldn’t resist the sale price; but now I’m back below a million CR again.) I could not get the GTO to get out of its own way there. Surprising, because I thought it had enough PI headroom for that.

Or did you just mean against the Testa Rossa?

Competitive overall in A or S1, all classes against the TR.

OK, thanks. I’ll give it a shot in A tomorrow.

Well, the LM was (relatively) painless to get, and I think it’s the first car I actually like in Class B. There’s lots of headroom in B to make it scream. I don’t have the other old ultra-expensive Ferraris, so I can’t compare. (I can afford to buy one of them now during the sale, but I still don’t much want to.)

I’ve not got the 250lm. But between the rest I’d go with 250gto hands down

Purely going by looks, I’d choose the 250 GTO.

84 GTO is one of the best cars ever made, it was intended to be a race/rally car and it doesn’t disappoint in this game. Although I’d really like to get 50HP more out of it with all tires upgrades in place. I’m currently using it in S1 as a rally car against all the overpowered rally cars. it’s a fun challenge and my car looks pretty sweet

We’re talking about the '62 250 GTO, not the 288

Thank you all for your responses, looks like I made the wrong choice. I got the TR cause it was lighter and it does make a nice S1 racer. It even has a liverly that makes it look like speed racers mach V! *nerdgasm

I went with the TR as well for my first mega-expensive car. The TR is a super light race car and the GTO is also a race car. The GTO is generally a lot more stable of a drive but in the right hands you can overcome the disadvantage with the TR. Having that light weight with the TR gives you a good place to aim for an amazing power-weight ratio when building it (and by that I mean you have a lot of breathing room if you are worried about weight).

I’d say both of them are pretty evenly matched but you could probably reach higher class competitiveness with the TR easier if you don’t mind giving more attention to grip.

i have both and the gto is where its at, I have 2 of them, 1 in B and the other an A build. There is nothing wrong with the TR imo, I just prefer the gto aesthetics.

Yea the GTO does look miles better, I’ll have to save another 8mil for it… it’s the last car that I want really.

While we’re on the topic of the 250, let’s not forget the California and Berlinetta Lusso. I quite like the Lusso, if for its looks more than anything else.

Regarding the OP, it really depends which one you like more, although I believe the GTO does perform slightly better than the TR.

The lusso was the first car I actually bought from the store front full price, I think its just gorgeous. imho I prefer my lusso build in A over the others. I rarely see it at the AH

Been doing fine with the TR in A/S1 since I bought it. Don’t think it’s that bad, at least nothing tuning can’t fix
