February DLC Clue Thread

Clue 1 Car 1: I only take “no” for an answer. Is that understood?
Tried searching the IMCDB for cars from Dr. No, none of them appear in the leaks. Not sure at this point

Clue 1 Car 2: VW and Porsche have not cornered the market on frunks.
1990 Renault Alpine GTA Le Mans. It has a “frunk” because it’s rear-engined.

Clue 1 Car 3: We Americans tried something very different when we built the racetrack at COTA.
I’ll go with the Cadillac ATS-V, since it was tested at COTA.

Clue 1 Car 4: While $358/horsepower may seem like a lot, you get a much more than just loads of torque.
Aston Martin DB11. The price listing is $214,820, $356x600hp = $214,800, NO WAY that’s a coincidence.

Clue 1 Car 5: Very excellent real life quotes to help you get through the day: Enjoy the ride. It’s all about the journey. Race or die! Run for your life!
Out of curiosity I searched each one of these with Jensen, Run for Your Life is a TV series that has an actress by the name of Karen Jensen, Race or Die leads me to Death Race, where the main character is named Jensen. Maybe a stretch, but I’ll go with the 1971 Jensen Interceptor.

Clue 1 Car 6: Sometimes just sounding like you are going fast is as good as going fast.
I’ll go with the Volvo 242 Turbo for this one

Clue 1 Car 7: Sesame Street Letter R - YouTube
The FK2 Civic Type R. Could also be the 1995 Nissan Nismo GT-R LM, but seems like a waste of a clue for a one-of-a-kind car with history.

As for guesses, i really don’t have a clue on any of them.

I wanna say for clue #6 is the 2017 Toyota Corolla iM, as I have one and it sounds somewhat fast and looks great and fast. Of course, whether it is fast I haven’t tested due to the car being relatively new and engine still needs breaking in, lol.

Car 7: I’m guessing it’s a “Big Red” race car of some sort as cited in the video. If it were merely brought to us by the letter R, the video clue would be a bit superfluous. I think it’s a type R psych out.

Car 5 Clue 1:

2006 Ford Mustang GT (Death Race)

Not guessing anything else seriously since a lot of cars very applicable to the clues got leaked already. On another note, this is what happens when your car database gets leaked. I’m just hoping and pretending that the leaked cars don’t spoil every obvious guess.

at the time Paul owned and was very fond of his blue Lamborghini 350 gt

That leaked cars post was complete bs and if you believe it you need to think for yourself once in a while.

It was completely real, and there’s no saying otherwise.

Now, I’ll have to go with the Pagani Zonda R for Clue 7, it’s gonna be either that or the Civic Type R.

The leaked cars list was from a Dev build that got released on accident. There is probably more truth to it than you think.

Clue 1, Car 1: “I only take “no” for an answer. Is that understood?”

or as it originally was

“We meanies only take ‘no’ for an answer! Is that understood, Max?”

That’s a quote from Yellow Submarine. Specifically by the Chief Blue Meanie. There’s only one ‘Blue Meanie’ in the car world that I know of. The 1985 HDT VK Group A SS. So i’m placing my bets on that.
