Fanatec steering wheel oscillation on straights with higher speed cars

Since the game released, I’ve struggled to eliminate my steering wheel from wanting to flick side to side on straights in Hypercars, LMDH, etc (cars with high speeds and downforce).

I’m not the good at setting up my steering wheel in the advanced wheel settings menu and was wondering if someone could help with suggestions to eliminate this problem please.

I’m using a Fanatec wheel and prefer the Simulation steering over the normal setting.

If anyone could help with this problem, I would be willing to try any suggestions you guys have to fix the high speed and high downforce problem on the wheel.

Not related at all but I’ve seen the player’s car weave or oscillate left and right right after crossing the finish line where the camera shifts to replay view. Happens at the end of single race or time trial. Haven’t tested MP.

Pneumatic and mechanical trail should be inverse values of each other. So one is 140, the other is 60 for example. If that doesnt work, then do the opposite setting. Oscialltion with wheels is so horrid. I almost sent my wheel back.

You need to increase the NDP value to reduce the amount of wobble the steering wheel will cause. I’d be happy to give you my settings if you have Fanatec.

I was playing around with pneumatic trail while having mechanical trail on zero. When I put pneumatic trail to 100/200 the wobble was incredibly strong. Perhaps excessive pneumatic trail is the culprit?

With me, I like the feeling of tire grip I get from the pneumatic trail. When I had mechanical trail at 200, when pneumatic on zero, the car felt mushy and vauge. It was tough to feel what the tires were doing.

But then, center spring also created a lot of oscillations. The problem with lowering center spring is, the steeringwheel no longer returned to center on its own.

Also, I’m not sure what you mean by NDP? I’m playing on a console, so if that’s a PC thing, then I don’t have that.
