The latest two stories were too easy, I entirely agree.

I understand why pure skill checks aren’t implemented. It’s very tricky to find the right level there because this is Horizon and not Motorsport. Different audience.
But at least some sort of “thinking out of the box” challenges should be a constant part in the stories.
“Upgrade Heroes” and this one were first try 3stars all the way.
The small stories inside the story like the chicken or stinky fish are neat but the gameplay itself was “meh”.

LOL, you both have some skill I guess. If you need some challenge, try to be first at leaderboards. It’s like three stars on PR stunts. Easy on first try… but not if you start with the game yesterday.

It is a tricky balance - some of the previous stories were very tough in places and I only just scraped a few of them with rewinds and stuff.

I won’t complain that these were too easy, I just complain that we ‘had’ to do them at all (ie. if you care about achievements. If I didn’t, I wouldn’t have touched them.)

I wonder how popular these are, really? Any time I see people discuss these on a forum elsewhere, it’s almost universally negative. I hope the devs don’t take participation as a sign they are popular. Any more than going to work is popular because you get paid. Take away the getting paid part and you’ll find out how truly popular it is.

I liked the story, it’s fine to do something else for few minutes. Some stories are better but I was always satisfied with everything. If I have more time I would fight in the leaderboards.

“skip cutscene” option would make this game much, much, much better

I just wish they wouldn’t call them ‘stories’ as if they want us to think there is some sort of meaningful narrative to them.

Simple fact is they’re a bunch of bucket list events grouped together, trying to dress it up with a different name and having some unlikeable tossbag give them to you doesn’t change that + is completely unnecessary.

Yeah, I would normally turn on rewinds for these but these were easy enough as i never needed it!!

These challenges are easy because this story will be included in the Festival Playlist next season.
This difficulty makes sense given that many players in one month (or one week) must complete this story with three stars.

The near misses are very easy in this one. I still haven’t managed to get all the near misses on the other Story (the one with the Bugatti EB driving along the highway).

This one was easy but I think these are really meant to be a challenge for younger audience. Those who look for a challenge in these, like Turtle wrote, leaderboards.

Personally I don’t mind easy challenges in the slightest but not being able to skip the intro on individual challenges is irritating.

I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong but at the moment I’m struggling to get 3 stars on the last event (danger sign at the quarry).

The danger sign was the only slightly challenging one (for me), that took a couple retries. You have to be above 208kmh (130mph-ish) when you hit the ramp, and that means you have to pass through the two trees right before the jump at just the right angle - and then there’s a chance that you hit a ditch on landing and fail the jump.

Overall it was a bit too easy for my taste, I three-starred everything in one 30 minute session, and I’m by no means a great driver - I’m pretty far off from three-starring all the other stories and probably never will for anything including drifting. But yeah…the old problem of game design. It’s difficult to find a balance between half the player base finding it too easy and the other half finding it way too hard.

Can some one do me a favour?

Can you make available similar tunes as in the Story for the Vandura and the Supervan for us non Tuners to use?

Can someone make available an Express Deliveries paint job for the Mini Traveller like the one’s available for the Vandura and the Supervan for us non Pianters to use?

I would be most grateful if some one could oblige.

Thanks in anticipation.

Many thanks for the advice.

The ones in the story aren’t the normal Vandura or Supervan, they’re special versions that you can’t legitimately own. What you’re asking for isn’t really possible.

I know that you can not have an exact Tune as per the Story but a pretty close approximation would be nice to put on the Vandura/Super Van just like the Paint jobs that have been done already which I have.

I could try to match the normal Vandura with the story one but it already becomes problematic at the tire choice because the normal one doesn’t have the option for those off-roads.

The SSV should be easier to match but the base car has to be the SSV FE and not the normal one. Aside from the not deletable roof rack of the FE it should come close because it has the Racing V12 as a swap option.
I’ll see what I can do.

Rayne thanks for the reply.

Do you think that there are enough Super Van FE to go round or will it just have to be the best fit with the normal one?

So far I just feel like it’s mediocre but I do have several complaints.

  1. Trams on the various mission should not be allowed to spawn. This continues further on point #3.

  2. Random alternate routes on Smash On Through are not very good ideas for leaderboards. Also not having a very clear indicator for which checkpoint is the final one you need to park at.

  3. Accelerometer Blues, oh boy this one is a disaster. The van’s tune is horrid for the rainy road; though I can look past that for the most part. The mismatch of the dialog saying it has a 5.8L V8 when its clearly the Racing V12 is a bit of an attention to detail oversight. However, the biggest issue I see is how the train can spawn cutting across the area the finish is at thus ruining a potential perfect run. Why is that thing even allowed to appear in the mission?

  4. Long Distance, why would you have a damage meter then put a gated dirt road you need to smash through right before the finish?

Haven’t had any issues and three-starred all missions first try, but I agree with #4, why’d they do that? Just plain oversight, and yes, the Accelerometer Blues van is TOUGH to control.
