Noticed the drag strip in demonstration was Sonoma. In past games were there 1/2 mile & 1 mile runs also available at Sonoma or did those only exist in a different “generic” location?
With all due respect, obviously you’re not one of the many, many people that have been waiting for years for something new for drag racing. So why comment?
Leave it alone.
For those like me, I am just beside myself that there is something new coming for us drag racers. I for one give a big thank you to Turn 10 for finally giving some attention to a big chunk of Forza players and drag fans. Please do as said and listen to your community about what works and what doesn’t. But I see nothing but good things coming from this.
When this was announced you were the first person on my mind. Glad you guys are finally getting something, and it’s “free” to boot.
I still don’t think a paid Drag Expansion would work, but having native drag racing features is a good idea and I hope they eventually come to Multiplayer.
It may even lead to some side benefits for circuit racers, like the ability to have jump-starts and “the 5 red lights”.
Lol, thanks man. It is so nice to see something new coming. They’ve done a lot in the last few weeks to bring out what the game should have launched as. Still waiting for that metal flake paint! Lol. Can’t win ‘em all.
Anyway, here’s to livin’ life a quarter mile at time! Lol
Actually, all kidding aside I’m looking forward to building a “Dom’s Charger” and letting it loose on the drag strip, even though I’m not really a drag fan by any means.
That part I understand. I guess you’re first part is what got me. I’ve posted too many wishlist and desperate posts about drag racing only to have people jump on the thread ONLY to explain how much of a waste of time it would be. Kinda sensitive about it at this point. So sorry if I offended.
I do agree. I wrote on one of those those wishlist threads how it would be amazing to have the history or evolution of drag racing like they sort of did with nascar. But have ya start with the 50’s Hotrodders and go through the generations. Like somebody said, have Some legendary cars through the ages up to the top fuel or funny car today. That would be incredible!
For now I’m just stoked that after all this time, drag racing is getting something! So again, sorry for being defensive. It’s wasnt without reason.
While I’m here, is there an official thread that will be up or can we start one for giving input, and once this is actually added, feedback for the new features? There are things I’ve seen just with the new multiplayer lobbies that would really help this start off right. Like figure out how to weed out the 8!second RZRs! Lol
There’s a couple things I would like to throw out there, but this isn’t a wishlist. I’d the general FM7 wishlist specific enough?
I’m not offended, and while I’m not excited about the drag improvements such as they are, neither do I think they’re a waste of time. The greatest improvement if I’ve understood correctly, which may entice me to dabble in the mode in Free Play when it debuts even without the sorts of dragsters I enjoyed watching as a kid, is being able to repeatedly have races without reloading the track. Being able to race longer than it takes to load it certainly increases the appeal (for those of us who might not be quite the drag enthusiasts already, anyway).
Heck, even if they don’t add full on dragsters, it’d be nice to have other drag oriented improvements to the cars like better front/rear wheel differentiation (as I believe someone else mentioned) or even the simple addition of wheelie bar options.
No, I am not excited about the drag improvements as they’ve been described thus far, but I’m all for them and hope they lead to even better things down the line. That was the sentiment I intended to convey.
(Ah, drag racers and tractor pulls… the firebreathing monsters of my youth… makes me nostalgic.)
Funny car’s. Great idea. I would love to see some vintage racer’s like the Snake and Mongoose 'cuda and Duster or Dyno Don Nicholson’s '66 Comet funny car and so so many more. How about some rails too. A download pack with several of Don Garlit’s classics would be incredible.
How about adding some vintage altered wheelbase (A/FX) Plymouth and Dodge drag car’s from the sixties along with (A/FX) Mustang’s and let’s not forget those great Factory Experimental 289 and 427 Comet’s too.
This is awesome! I finally have a useful place to drive all those off road vehicles!
Ha ha I kid but seriously there is absolutely nothing wrong with adding drag racing properly. If this means burnout boxes, bottle fed boost, drag slicks that work, different tire size, width and compound front to rear, wheelies and fire breathing top fuel dragsters bring it on!
Now to work out where to drive that Honda Odyssey…
