Now that I think of it, I’m betting there won’t be an expansion of any kind. Seeing how up in arms people were about micro transactions and the very flawed perception of the gaming community that Forza Motorsport 5 was riddled with pay-to-play features, I suspect Turn 10/Playground Games are simply going to offer up the vehicle packs and that is about it. Any sort of paid expansion would only refuel the fire that Forza forces gamers to pay for features of the game that should be included for free.
Of course, I am knowledgeable enough to know that no Forza title has ever required the purchase of DLC to fully participate in and complete the base gameplay; however, I can see how something like this would play into the misinformed controversy that occurred less than a year ago. For that reason, perhaps no expansion is in the works as some of us would like to believe. Personally, I would welcome an expansion of some kind, but now I tend to believe there will not be anything to welcome in at all.
Ok - add a toll gate to the north of the map somewhere - you can fast travel or drive up to the toll gate - the toll gate is a tunnel leading to the Alps - then you’re up in expansionville.
The part of the expansion that could propagate into the game proper is the aforementioned rally / off road specific componentry so that some of the content can be released for free to those who choose not to buy into it.
First of all i have really enjoyed playing this Horizon and have always loved the blend of serious racing and arcade racing, although i do feel that a few things need to be tweaked in this game.
First of all the balance on points a player gets just for finishing a race is too high, it should undoubtedly be better for a higher finish position and not so much about how many skill points can be accumulated while sitting at the back of the pack uncontesting any position,
I put this into practice to see if it was possible for myself to win a road trip purely by skilling and finishing dead last in every event, i won the event by over 5,000 points without ever leading a race!!
I also think that rather than just set up road trips in classes it should also incorporate car types, so instead of everybody drivng a good Ferrari for every road style they will be forced to to drive a Track Toy for example or a Rally Car, this would bring so many more cars out in these road trips rather then a handful of top performing cars,
