What can we expect from horizon in terms of content added over time (free and/or paid)?
For example in forza, they released additional circuits.
I’ve yet to hear any mention of anything map-related. From day 1 it was always known that the track roster in Forza 5 would be bolstered but that’s not been the case with Horizon 2. Certainly in game there’s been deliberate room left for additional events (such as the Bucket List) but I imagine this is to do with coming car DLC rather than new map.
Would be nice though.
I don’t know if they really plan on adding anything to the map or not. But I do wish they would add a proper mountain. It can easily be explained that a new mountain was closed off due to road construction. So it wouldn’t be so weird for one to show up out of no where.
it is entirely conjecture and wishful thinking, but there is a good bit of empty space at the n, e, and w fringes of the map. No real idea why they’d do this but I hope I can guess!
Any free DLC would likely come by way of a promotional car pack. Apart from that, I suspect we’ll get the monthly DLC, possibly a paid expansion of some kind and that will be it for Forza Horizon 2.
I got my fingers crossed for a rally expansion pack like in the first on.
I want rally/offroad tires, suspesion, and body kits please.
Id say theres a pretty good chance there will be a rally expansion. They really pushed for the open world/ drive anywhere you want theme with this game so it would make sense to add more rally cars and events to take up all that open countryside.
I personally would love to see the map be expanded to the northeast/east with the addition of Maranello as a kind of Ferrari themed expansion. There is room to add some more Ferrari’s (458 Speciale, 599XX Evo, FXX, etc.) and it would be cool to have the town where Ferrari’s are created. It would go great with the overall setting of the game, and plus… who doesnt love more awesome cars and new roads to drive on?

I think it would be awesome if instead of releasing new renditions of the game every couple of years, they would just continue to expand the map to eventually have all of Europe. Now, I know there would be technical limitations, but with the hardware we have now-a-days, I dont see why it wouldn’t be feasible to make an attempt. Plus, “The Crew” did this by having the “entire” U.S. in their game, so it can certainly be done. Now back to my main point - regular map expansions. It would be cool if say, every 6-12 months they could add new countries that border Italy/ France to eventually encompass the whole continent of Europe. I know it sounds very daunting considering how big Europe is and the limitations that would likely come into effect, but by no means would they have to scale the countries to their actual size. Just accurate representations of the best areas of that particular country, just like they did with France and Italy in H2. Also, along with the map expansion they could release cars that originate from that specific country, or are suited best for the terrain. This would allow us to have the ultimate game full of a truly open world gameplay, and a full roster of cars that would rival Forza games of the past. It would also be nice to have the ever-expanding world on one disk, rather than having to buy another game 1-2 years down the road for a new experience. What are your guys’ thoughts?
