Expansion pass ideas?

It’s actually going to be K’NEX. I am 100% sure.

Before these news I was all like “please no more toy expansions like Hotwheels”.
After these news “Hotwheels sounds good”.

I think they need to do a voting for motorcycles or if they do whant to add bikes make it like expansion 3 bud including maby Isle of Man with the complete TT or something else maby include sport bikes to, but i atleast hope they will do a voting for motorcycles because it whould give FH4 a real big boost and i think allot more people will play the game. Like theres already some gear in game and maby they can add more gear, but it whould make a great 3rd expansion because they have time and they can say when it will release, i was thinking around 2020 or may 2020

Hi guy’s i thought i’ll makes this to let the dev maby see some ideas for a 3rd expansion if they see this i think the 3rd expansion could maby be for motorcycles and if they do whant to add bikes do like a voting in the community, maby make it a Isle of Man with the complete TT or something else maby include sport bikes to, but i atleast hope they will do a voting for motorcycles because it whould give FH4 a real big boost and i think allot more people will play the game. Like theres already some gear in game and maby they can add more gear, but it whould make a great 3rd expansion because they have time and they can say when it will release, i was thinking around may 2020. What do you guys think and show your ideas on a 3rd expansion.

They have stated a million times they wont do motorbikes

If there was going to be a 3rd expansions it would have already been decided on by now
They have never ever mentioned about a 3rd expansion coming either
Everything you have suggested has also been suggested a thousand times too …almost exactly
And there is a wishlist for expansion ideas…as you do alredy know

What Talby said. Plus most of us will be long in the grave by the time a third expansion would come out.

(Missed Opportunity would’ve been a more suitable name for this franchise, I think…)

Well, I can’t say that I’m really surprised by this Lego announcement; extremely disappointed, but not really surprised. While enjoying hybrid-adventure game successes with Batman, Star Wars, etc., Legos as a product has a very narrow natural target audience - children, the ones closer to crawling-age rather than ones closer to driving-age. And despite Forza Horizon being an arcade-style off-shoot of Motorsport, I’ll wager that the vast core of it’s player base is also of driving-age. It’s quite an unrealistic stretch to bridge these two audiences in such a fashion that reasonably appeases everyone (Perhaps this is why open class rivals is really returning, an attempt to appease the older, more purist part of the player base, I suspect). However, those Lego adventure games admittedly are sort of fun, personally speaking, but it’s more of a ‘cutesy’ sort of fun, one with a very limited duration of appeal with this adult (there’s only so many brick walls I can smash through with a Lego-fied Catwoman before boredom sets in)…so how they’ll pull off “fun” with this remains to be seen.

Besides the general concept of a Legos expansion, I find the LEGO-fying of any car offensive and totally unacceptable. I personally am not a hypercar enthusiast, but how on Gods green earth can one justify mutilating a Senna, such a beautiful piece of automotive art, into a some trash-Minecraft car? It’s borderline obscene and dare I say heresy! And just three cars, two of which we’ve already seen in-game (I think)?! If the LEGO part of this wasn’t already a slap in the face, getting shafted with just three new LEGO-fied cars definitely is. Why didn’t PG just go ahead and spit in our face and include a full-on Diplo giant rabbit car? Seems and feels appropriate at the moment, anyway.

Considering the recent announcement of the Hot Wheels live-action film, I was totally expecting another HW-oriented expansion. Say what you will about Horizon 3’s Islandtopia, at least that was franchise-appropriate. I may not have particularly enjoyed its seemingly otherworldly-feeling physics, the rigid track-only route orientation, or the over-the-top obnoxious wall-riders that infested every event, but the expansion itself was visually gorgeous; racing loops through a lush jungle on those iconic orange tracks past a few T. Rex’s before climbing across a blue open sky…PG totally captured the spirit of Hot Wheels and deserves a feather in its cap for what it produced (even if I hated playing it). But in light of this Legos announcement, Islandtopia is looking pretty gosh-darn good right, I must say.

And in light of the Fortune Island expansion, which feels like just a bunch of random graphic assets leftover and/or rejected from the development of the core game and just haphazardly lumped together and peddled as “extra content,” I grow weary of these generic and fantasy-themed expansions. I’ve never been to Britain or Australia, but the lengths to which PG went to recreate and implement the natural details of both nations I’ve always been impressed with, at least as far as I can possibly know. I’ve enjoyed racing with quite a few Aussies and Brits across both Australia and Britain, and never once have I ever heard any of them utter remarks of anything less than positive as far as graphic and artist detail s were concerned. That all said, I’ve always found these fake/generic locales to be total buzzkills, going from detailed perfection in the core game to immersion-destroying random helter skelter delivered in expansions. One missed opportunity after another. Here in Horizon 4, we have historic Edinburgh in the highlands overlooking brook-laden rolling valleys rich in lush vegetation with villages nestled about here and there…but that’s where the tour of Britain stops. They could’ve gone just s little further south and given us Hadrian’s Wall instead of just a bunch of nothing below the windmill. No need to visit over-exposed London thank you very much, but Hello, Ireland is sitting squarely in front of us! Instead of the half-baked Fortune Island that was delivered to is, imagine what a treat an Emerald Isle expansion would have been! Or further south by way of the Chunnel into France, giving us a little Horizon 2 throwback of sorts.

And if make-believe was absolutely the only way to go having cornered themselves in using Britain for Horizon 4 to begin with, there are several historically mythic ideas to take advantage of. How about giving the Welsh some love and exposure for a change and go medevial on us with an Avalon theme? I’d even settle for a magical Hy-Brasil or Atlantis, at least those would be rooted in the “real world.” Perhaps real world physical location isn’t absolutely necessary, provided a cultural theme to build from is present. We saw hints of Celtic and Viking flair on Fortune Island; what a shame those historically appropriate themes were not taken advantage of more.

I have always said that the true strength of the Horizon franchise is the off-road, open world aspect of it. Based in general locales, what Horizon can offer players is endless; PG can design its own world, its own routes, it’s own features to its hearts content whereas Motorsport by comparison, is stagnant thanks to being largely locked into specific real world tracks as features and is quite limited in what it can ultimately offer (Just look at what they did with FM7, which should’ve been an expansion of 6 and not a money-grabbing stand alone sequel). It’s the artistic license granted to PG by way of the locales it selects that frees the Horizon series to go anywhere, and offer us everything. The real world is PG’s oyster and there are more than enough extraordinary places on Earth for them to take us to than to dumb us down with gimmicks like Legos. And as the second expansion that I’ve already paid for being an Ultimate Edition pre-sale, this leaves me feeling like I’ve sort of been robbed or cheated out of something owed as I’m quite certain I won’t be having much to do with this Legos thing if anything at all. Not as bad as I felt after my Motorsport 7 Ult Ed pre-sale, but still pretty bad; not what I want to be feeling after allllllll the disappointments already encountered throug Horizon 4.

In another thread, I started to voice my concerns about future content and the direction of this game, and this Lego stuff could be the cherry on top (if it’s not the pits themselves.) The writing is on the wall my friends, and apparently, that wall is made up of brightly multi-colored bricks.

(sigh) If anyone ever needs me, I’ll be in open class rivals.

Hey man, that’s cool. How you absorb information and what you choose to do with it is your business. It probably won’t surprise you to hear that much of the time I do the exact same thing with lame tiny posts that don’t actually say anything…and by “say anything,” I mean contributing something thoughtful and/or meaningful to further a conversation rather than using the posts and threads in this forum as a toilet. (Please note, Mr Charmer, that that I am in NO way referring to you personally nor am I insinuating that I find you or your posts problematic in any way.)

I have a vocabulary and I don’t apologize for it.

Well, I hope there will be a third DLC for Horizon 4, so I can have at least 2

Short attention span maybe?

Personally, I Would’ve wished for an M1 Expansion (+ Respective Towns with it), Wouldn’t it be cool to tear up the M1 in a BMW M1? Maybe even have some cool stuff like Street Races, Classic Events and maybe even Showcases where you have to race from the Start of the M1 to the End of the M1? This could’ve even dived into Realistic Traffic Jams and Nicer Landscapes.

But Alas, No… We got YOUR COMPANY HERE Expansion #310, just like how we used to get YOUR COMPANY HERE Car packs, With Hot Wheels It worked because the whole brand was based off Racing Cars, LEGO is just starting to Bank off of the Same Idea, and while LEGO Was Synonymous with Racing before, If I Really wanted something similar to this I Would’ve asked for a Pinewood Derby Expansion.

Maybe Turn 10/Playground will Learn and give some sort of Free Consolation Expansion like with the whole Mitsubishi Car Pack thing and how that was free (Albeit it was free because Mitsubishi and T10/PG made an Agreement), Though I Doubt that will happen and this post will probably be dismissed as “In my wildest dreams” or “TEXT WALL”.

Now that the dust has settled and we’ve got Lego wether we like it or not.

What are the chances of a 3rd expansion? No new forza game until next year so can we start and expansion 3 wish list thread?

New island, bigger, more houses, new cars we actually want!

I think that the next expansion should be Tonka just because mathematically I will win the guessing game!

I don’t think we’ll see a 3rd expansion unless they surprise us with announcing 2 more expansions are coming to the game next year in XO19.

For me if there’s any expansion coming I hope to see something feature motorcycles or something like that.

Will never be motorcycles
Been stated time and time again
Its one thing they have said

And when I first came here I asked why is there no Bathurst in FH3 - being Australia it seemed so obvious.

The actual reply from all the long term players here was there will never be a racing circuit in Horizon, that was stated.

The Lego expansion is Horizon and has a racing circuit - just goes to show if you believe everything they state you will eventually be wrong.

Motorcycles would have been a much better choice for the expansion, why do we have motorcycle gloves and helmets in FH4??
