Eventlab Blueprint tips & advice :
-
if you saved the race file, it is ALWAYS there so don’t panic
-
to edit a race file, go to location, create blueprint then choose file (no need to create the event after the file has been saved you can just quit, just repeat this step again).
-
save your files as race01, race02, race03 etc so you can always easily go back later to a previous file if needed
-
if your 100% happy with your edit and believe it’s ready, name it racev1 (race version 1) and create event and blueprint. Also make sure you redraw your racing line from scratch for this final edit, which stops the racing line from becoming corrupted.
Plan a Route :
-
first thing, work out where the start/finish invisible checkpoint is. Easiest method I found is to select redraw on start line, immediately add a long straight Hot Wheels track piece down and wall off immediately left and right outside the track with tyres or something. This will ensure when you finish the race, you won’t get a missed checkpoint issue.
-
DO NOT place a checkpoint too near the start/finish and recommend do not turn immediately left or right at start/finish area as will get a missed checkpoint when trying to complete a race (maybe it’s only for circuits, however I’d avoid it). Good example of this is Costera Cross Country Circuit start where if turn left can cause this issue.
-
keep the 12 starting grid positions clear of everything, including props or own made road above the area.
-
never place checkpoints on crossover racing lines.
-
never place checkpoints on top of each other, meaning anywhere near each other above and below like on Hot Wheels track for example.
