Engine Swap and Forced Induction Options

Hi all,

This is my first time posting on the forums and this appears to be the correct place to post this. Let me start off by saying that I was absolutely blown away by the E3 presentation, and after feeling like I didn’t get “the most” out of Forza Horizon 2 and Forza Motorsport 6, I opted to get the Ultimate Edition and will get the Expansion Pack. I want everything this release has to offer.

I enjoyed the main series of events (as of last night I completed the Showcase Finale) and am still enjoying this game. Since I started playing on the 23rd I have not played any other game, except maybe a few games of Halo 5. This game allows me to indulge in my love for cars and ultimately lets me virtually experience my dream garage. However, there are some points I would like to nitpick at, namely engine swap and forced induction options.

Many of you may know about some insane engine swaps out there in the world, from LS Miatas/Hondas/you name it to a Ford Granada with a Koenigsegg power plant swapped in. I’m a muscle car guy, and I’m sure I tear at JDM guy’s hearts when I say I swapped out the I4 in the 240SX for a beefy LS3 (or I assume it’s an LS3 due to the displacement). Surprisingly, I decided to keep the 2-rotor engine in my RX-7. For now, haha.

Anyway, the point that I’m trying to get to is that it appears as though cars in this game are missing swap options. I faintly remember being able to swap some pretty insane engine choices into different chassis, but one example of a more tame, and more… feasible, realistic swap that can be done in real life is a big block Ford 7.0 L engine into a Boss 302. The Boss 302 has the option for another V8, but it’s a 6.2 L, which again, I’m almost certain is a GM LS3. I’m a Ford guy, and I refuse to stroke that out to 7.0 L and say “yes, this is a big block Ford 428”. I just can’t, for more than one reason. To name one, it’s because when I go into the performance upgrades, I get options for fuel injection upgrades instead of carburetors. There was a specific 7.0 L option for the Boss 302 in Horizon 2, but it’s completely absent in FH3. I was rather disappointed.

This post isn’t just about the Boss 302 missing a previous swap option. If possible, I would love to see an update or something where more engine options can be chosen from for multiple cars, and the same goes for forced induction. With the GT350R, for example, does not have an option to bolt on a centrifugal supercharger, which is something I would like to do to my car in the game. Again, this is a nitpick; it bothers me, but I can live with it. I would just like to see even more customization options in terms of engine swaps and forced induction, and maybe even in engine building; I’m surprised this game doesn’t have the option for Street/Sport/Race cylinder heads.
