i was drag racing in my tt viper the other day vs another viper
and i think the other viper was a slightly older model, but his sounded much different, and smoked my ass on the strip
his car didnt have that unique viper sound, it was more like an f1 ferrari/new lambo sound
the problem i have with this is, i can only make upgrade and tune a stock engine car so fast,
no matter what someone can just swap out the engine in the same car and beat me just because they just went the quick route and put a v12 in their car which nets them an extra 100hp and im unable to upgrade mine any further
i hate to put restriction on things, and remove stuff out of a game, but maybe instead of that, be able to tune the turbos aswell?
cause i kind of like the idea of forza as a simulator
in real life i dont think you see alot of vipers/gallardos/huracans especially ones that are built for drag swapping out the stock engine for a v12
i think because its impractical and for example the higher displacement that the 8 liter v10 the viper has is much more efficient than the 6 liter v12s
but in this game for instance with the viper if you swap out your 8 liter v10 and put in a 6.5l v12 thats designed for a car where the engine is in the back you go much faster than anyone possibly can with the v10 inside no matter how much they upgrade and tune it
its just dumb IN MY OPINION, because i have yet to see anyone actually do this IRL
putting a v12 in a huracan or a v12 in a dodge viper
its just impractical, but in this game, it makes sense i guess!! enlighten me someone
im not gonna be a nazi and say this should be removed from the game, but maybe add more options for tuning? like for the turbos and superchargers?
I have seen a v12 (jag) in a dragster back in the early 90`s, the tow car was an XJS Jag with a chevy v8. The tow car was actually faster down the strip than the dragster.
I agree on more tuning. particularly the engines.
The last time i played a car racing game prior to this it was on the Commodore 64, it was called street rod, even that required you to set the timing to gain max hp after bolting on the performance parts.
I would expect after 27 years of progress you would have to do more than just set timing, not less. These days with ECU`s i think having the ability to map fuel and timing curves would be appropriate for a game of this calibre.
I have been waiting for turbo tuning to make its way into the Motorsport games for years, but we can tune the same things in FH2/FH3/FM4/FM5/FM6 we could tune ages ago in FM3. (If FM2 has tuning, likely the same as it, too.)
i agree, the supra rz is by far the worst offender a real supra can easily pass the 1000hp mark with just basic turbo and valvetrain upgrades same goes for most v8s aswell the corvette/camaro should be able to have around 1400-1500hp its sad being passed by a muscle car that sounds like that generic f1 car from gran turismo 3 xD
