I dont know if it was coincidence, but I just won 3 eliminator games in a ROW after having bought an elite controller.
What i did was remap the lower right paddle to throttle. It made the controller wayyyy more comfortable to hold for extended durations while holding the throttle like 99% of the time, as you do in eliminator. and being able to throttle on and off instantly when navigating through trees was really noticibly different and easier, without having the ‘fatigue’ of the travel of the trigger each time.

If you reconfigure throttle to anything other then the triggers then you lose the ability to control how much throttle to apply which is critical in car games.
Comfortable hand position is a different story… Personally I use the stock XSX controller for FH5 and use my elite 2 for FPS games. You only need elite 2 if you drive manual.
I also have 2 different hand positions. For car racing I treat the triggers like the trigger on a gun where the top crest of my index finger is on the trigger. This allows me to use the trigger for long gaming sessions without discomfort.
For fps games my hands move more ontop of the controller so that the tips of my fingers are on the back paddles and my right thumb has got good range on the right stick with the tall stick in use.
I do hope that the future elite 3 comes in different sizes though because one size definitely doesn’t fit all…
Still waiting for my Elite controller to arrive from the States. I’ll try this mapping once I have it. Thx
@varunaX trust me, use the trigger for throttle lol
I mean I know what you are saying, I’ve been using the trigger since launch.
Im just saying for the eliminator, where 90% of your racing is in a straight line and you are holding the full throttle 95% of the entire time, the paddle is really making a noticible difference in terms of comfort and accuracy through trees

I wouldn’t use it for racing or PR stunts, but I’d be willing to at least give it a try in Eliminator. One of those things where it might be more of individual preference. I might like it and I might not.
Off Topic I know but it boggles my mind that you (or anyone) finds doing that interesting. I try not to gatekeep or be judgemental, but sometimes people make it very difficult.
Sorry, I’m really trying very hard to not be rude to you, it just really gets under my skin when I want so desperately to have a realistic as possible open world racer only to be outspoken by the crowd that just wants to mash a single button and win.
I bought a relatively cheap wired Xbox type controller for my pc, us it for more or less everything, always use the triggers for accel and braking, and when doing farming where I don’t need to steer I sit there one handed and sometimes swapping from hand to hand.
For online racing I like to bind accelerate to the left hand stick press and break to the right hand stick press. I then bind the left trigger to stear right and the right trigger to stear left. I find this helps me avoid rammers because even I don’t know what direction I’m going in next.

You do you. No one is making you buy an Elite Controller and assign the throttle to the paddle. All it is doing is reassigning a button for comfort. It is not like it is a auto-steer or auto-brake feature. Either way, you have to still hold the button, steer, brake, and use you brain.
Only way I can see using triggers problematic is if you use triggers with middle fingers which is wrong way to hold controller.
Ever heard of the crab grip?
I would of thought the right way to hold a controller is the way a person is comfortable holding it.
How do you plan to use paddles with that crap grip?
I don’t use crab grip. I use cross over grip where your right hand holds the left side of the controller and your left hand holds the right. It sounds weird at first but once you get use to it it’s still weird.

I would quite happily buy a controller where the triggers can be locked in the fully on position, I know you can fit a rubber band or tape to do that but there is always the chance it will fall off.
On the elite 2 controller you can adjust the triggers to have a short trigger range. But why would you do that in a car game…
It would be of use when I need to pop to the loo or answer a call, I know I can pause the game but I would rather let the game continue to save time.
He does AFK racing. That’s why he complains about “AI moving road block train” in championships because normally he races against 0 unbeatable drivatars.

No I don’t do afk, I never have,. But carry on assuming.
