Elite Controller Setup

Guys today I got my hands on my brand new elite controller. Can any of you awesome racers tell me wether the long, medium or small thumb stick works best for steering in Forza Motorsport 7?

I am also unsure which stick preset sensitivity works best in Forza.

Below are the available presets:

  1. Delay
  2. Default
  3. Aggressive
  4. Instant
  5. Smooth

I use default preset, standard thumb sticks, mapped clutch on left and right upper back pedals, downshift on left lower pedal, upshift on right lower pedal. Trigger lock on left bumper with deceleration outside deadzone set to 84.

I use middle height stick and aggressive but I push the aggressive slider all the way down and one click up from there. Trigger lock is good for learning ABS off but don’t keep it on after you get used to it because some cars will not brake enough. Right now my Elite broke and I am using a regular controller and really do not see much difference other than comfort. I do not use the paddles. Elites are out of stock almost everywhere now and I cannot exchange it at the moment.

I used to think my elite made a slight difference, but now I don’t think so. If I hadn’t bought at a great price, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone at the usual price.

The only advantage I get from my Elite is the left trigger lock when running without ABS. I get really nice braking just barely pulling it against the lock. Any harder and the wheels lock up. I haven’t tried changing any of the controller presets. I’d be curious to try it if anyone has any suggestions as far as how to set it.

New one is sure to be announced at E3 so I would wait. I 'm pretty sure that is why they are out of stock pretty much. Hopefully the left stick will be made stronger. Stick tension control is what a hear is being added.

Hope you got a extended warranty

Have fun when the rubber grips start to swell and bulge, then detach from the controller.

I use the longest thumb stick and I lowered the sensitivity of the left thumb stick to cut down on swaying left and right on circle tracks but on circuit I use default settings.

Long thumbsticks break the stick more easily and quicker in my experience. Medium took twice as long to break the stick lol

I have had one trigger lock disappear inside the controller and have just glued the rubber grip back on one side. I was going to buy a new one because I prefer to use the elite over the standard controller. However if there is anew one coming I will wait. Thanks for heads up lee.:+1::+1:

Wow, you guys are ruthless with your controllers. I’ve had an elite since release and use it for hours every day with no issues.

The only issue I’ve had with mine is the occasional need to resync it with my console, something I have had to do with the other 8 or so controllers, between 3 Xbox one s/x.

I’ve only had mine since first of year, but I’m pretty easy on things.

My original Xbox controller was fully functional even after four years of almost daily use. I traded it in this past November for the One X to Gamestop. I even washed it several times in the sink with soap and water. It temporarily stopped working for several hours because the electrical parts inside had gotten wet but it came back to life after a few hours each time.

The elite is a nice compliment for the One X. I really like how it feels. I love the paddle shifters too. Works great with Forza.
