Now you not only have car drops, but also upgrade drops (3 or 4 types).
1 - offroad tires
2 - race weight reduction
3- power upgrade (either race turbo or undescribed pack which would upgrade your power by maybe 20%)
4 - AWD swap (it would be not usable for all cars, so I don’t know if that should be in)
I exclude engine swaps, cause sometimes it would require gearbox swap.
Level 10 would not be upgradable.
So you want more upgrade possibilities similar to an actual Battle Royale like PUBG? I am sceptical however. This may result in more players looking for drops and not engaging in head-to-head races. Anyway, your ultimate goal should be to have a level 10 car for the final race. But if that’s not upgradable, why should you bother to collect upgrades before?
Most of all, I would not like any kind of power upgrades or boosts - at least not as long as there is no anti-cheat in the game… I report each and every cheater I encounter. How should I (or the support) know if your boost is legit or not…?
Highest priority should be on cleaning up the car list. There are several cars obviously sorted in the wrong levels. And some cars are just terrible and not suitable for offroad racing. Many times an upgrade is actually a downgrade…

And problem with that is where? Let people play how they want.
Also depends. If number of current car drops would be divided for car drops/upgrades, then it would probably encourage people to do 1vs1, cause there would be a lot less cars to pick up. But at the same time it would give even bigger advantage to person that would find higher lever car, so that is not that good. IMO “upgrades” should have their own drops.
You don’t have to have lvl10 to win. It gives you advantage, but doesn’t guarantee the win.
The point is that lvl10 cars are already tuned ones and are pretty quick. Actually as I think about it, aren’t lvl 9 (and some 8) also tuned already? Upgrades would just reduce gap between lower level cars.
And side effect: normally players try to challenge players in lower level cars than they are in. With upgrades it would give more unpredictability.
Understandable. Although I think it is pretty obvious when someone is cheating. I was lucky enough to met only handful of them and most of them was just flying in the sky.
All of the “upgrades” suggested by me wouldn’t make that much difference. Like race turbo for lvl 2 Escort would give 20? 40? HP, and for lvl 5 Focus 60? HP.
Yes, there are better and worse cars. I understand your point of view, but IMO that is a part of this mode. You need to know what are strong/week points of each car and how to use it. If you should take it or not.
But yeah, would be happy to see some shuffle or just new cars in Eli.
Well, it’s called the Eliminator, not the Hoarder. Moreover, the final race does not start until there are less than 13 players left. And have you ever been stuck in level 8 Metro shortly before the final race? You desperately want to challenge somebody, but they are all hiding? The gearbox limits the Metro to 200 kph - your suggested power upgrades would not help at all in that case…
It’s not always that obvious. Some people are more sneaky and devious than you think. But I don’t want to elaborate for obvious reasons…
Compared to the Elimator in FH4, the car selection in FH5 is terrible. But even in FH4, players were allowed to vote for 1 car in each level to be excluded from the game. That helped a lot! For example, the Unimog, Bentley Continental and Funco were “eliminated”.
Sure! But when your upgrade choice is e.g. the Metro and you do not take it, it will be the Metro again after your next won challenge… Thus, not to take an upgrade only makes sense shortly before the final race.

I would like to see new upgrade options added in addition to cars such as:
- One time nitrous boost that increases your car speed by say 25% for 10 seconds.
- Swap car buff - For next 3 mins you glow a red aura. If you challenge someone and hit them you will swap cars with them.
- Change car option. You have the ability to choose any car with the same level as your current car.
- Immunity - For next 3 mins you glow a blue aura. You can challenge other players but you cannot be challenged.
These upgrades would appear all over the map. New upgrades added every 6 months.
Suggestions 2-4 are really interesting and orginal! Also the suggestions by the OP have validity and would surely spice up the game play.
But as said before, I have my problems with any kind of boosts because cheaters use them too. Okay, you could use e.g. flames coming out of the exhaust to distinguish them from cheats. But I would only know if you are directly in front of me…
My greatest concern, however, is that this would make the Eliminator more complicated. People have no patience nowadays, they need instant gratification and anything longer than a tweet cannot be bothered with. There is another thread atm about “Eliminator Fairness”. Several posts by people who have never seriously played the Eliminator. One even describes it as “cruising in free roam with a time limit”… Excuse me??? New players seem to be already overwhelmed by this game mode and think that experienced players are out to get them…
Nevertheless, I would rather have all of your suggestions than to play Eliminator as a duo !!!

Eliminator in FH4 was borderline perfect for a BR mode in a car game. Unfortunately it’s far from perfect in FH5 due to the vast wide open spaces. Thats why I suggested what I did. It needs something to mix it up. Honestly I will go full in on Mario Kart in eliminator.
