I truly believe that Playground are trolling their players…long loading times, AI breaking the rules of Physics, things broken that should never have passed QC. i definitely think it currently after the Expedition Daily not working, as there is the really long wait to land back in Free Roam (on all the Expeditions) and then you have to restart the game to get the radio playing again as there is no sound from it
As long as I can win the eliminator (I did two times so far in FH5) there are no cheaters in my sessions I think
But after my last win I was challenged too from an invisible enemy, but it was no surprise that he has won in his level 7 Nissan GTR against my level 2 Golf… Especially when the shortest route was via the highway. Though I was near the finish line as the lost message appears.
Better than the last time I was challenged by an invisible player in it’s level 10 Mercedes-AMG One - there I reached the finish line first and after the loading screen it says I have lost. But that was one time in about 50 Eliminator matches so nothing that really matters.
It is some fun if you don’t know what to do exactly with your time in FH5
So, I was challenged by someone I couldn’t see. I was 1 of 2 going to the finish line the entire time. I get to the end thinking I won but I lost. This can’t be a server lag issue.
Disappearing players is a common issue with the whole game online, not just in Eliminator, so it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s someone cheating. The way the game handles connecting to players was trumpeted as being new and improved compared to FH4. Well it’s new…
anyone saying there aren’t cheaters in this game obviously haven’t taken a look at the leaderboards lately. people doing danger sign distances that would put Apollo 11 to shame. and that’s just one example. there are definitely cheaters in Eliminator. i got challenged to a head to head, was in first place all the way to the finishing point yet still lost.
Has anyone said there aren’t any cheaters in the whole game? I don’t think anyone said that. We’re just pointing out that invisible players is a widespread problem currently, most or perhaps even all of which is down to networking issues. Correlation isn’t causation, just because you got beat by an invisible player doesn’t mean it was a cheat. The next time you see a player in Eliminator and beat them, remember that YOU may be invisible to THEM! And they may also jump to the conclusion that you are cheating.
People are too quick to jump to conclusion that cheating is a fantasy of someone’s sick imagination and everyone else is just trolling. Or lying. Or exagerrating.
I was playing today, and 3 out of 4 games had the following:
invisible player challenging me (I won a couple of challenges)
I challenge other players and they just ignore me (note that they drove directly away from me as I approached, so yeah, I’m sure they could see me)
I keep challenging them for minutes, they don’t beep once. We were driving in a group of THREE and nobody could challenge anyone, eventually we went our separate ways. I later found THESE SAME PLAYERS and they were STILL driving those same cars. Then I saw at least one of them get challenged (AND THERE WAS NO OTHER CAR AROUND) and they raced, won, and then the barrier kicked them from the game. I was challenged myself, eventually, and was beaten (I was challenged by invisible folks 5 times total, won 2 races, lost 3)
But wait, it doesn’t end here.
The field was STATIC. It didn’t move, it didn’t decrease, head to heads were not disabled (but you couldn’t challenge anyone as using beep did nothing other than remove the icon for 3 seconds, which later reappeared), there WAS NO TIMER WHATSOEVER. The circle had minimum diameter, there were 30+ players, there was occasional challenge, and the winner was eliminated by the barrier IMMEDIATELY after winning, I’ve seen this announcement multiple times. Then I’ve seen one of THREE players I could see get into a race, JUMP OUT OF THE PERIMETER, WIN THE RACE(!!!) and then get eliminated by leaving the perimeter. And then I was challenged, but since I was in level 4 car, not level 9-10 like others, I lost my race.
The circle didn’t move for around 10 minutes.
I have a ton of screenshots from that game. I’m not posting them because I cannot be sure whether the cheater / hacker / modder / mad kid with a grenade was fooling around and making up challenges, or it was the cheater who eliminated others. And I don’t want innocents mixed up in this nonsense.
So yeah, I’d love to say it’s all fairy tales and a bunch of bugs, but I played four games today, and I could challenge another player to a race a total of two times. All the other games I had a ton of invisible players, I could see 3 or 4 players total, got challenged by ghosts many more times than I saw anyone etc.
If it’s just poor connection quality then I have to ask:
was this even tested? Like, AT ALL?
…and to top it off, on the rare occasion I’ve been able to challenge and finally get more than a single poxy elimination in one session without some kind of bug (I eliminataed 3 in the last session), the “Prepare For Elimination” in the Festival Playlist has not unlocked!
My guess is that the devs have been forced to quota hire sub-standard programmers in order to satisfy certain criteria, pushing out much better programmers as a consequence.
If I was involved in any part of releasing this borked POS, I’d be embarrased to say I was part of the project.
Other than that, what a great game…NOT!
That’s me don with this POS as it’s such a PITA having to redo stuff because of the bugginess of the game.
Even the Festival Playlist takes more time than anyone should be expected to invest every week with the extra weekly online events (instead of once a month).
Gone are the days of popping in on a Thursday evening after work to unwind and complete the weekly stuff in a couple of hours.
Just seen my first cheater on the Eliminator. The player was in a Lamborghini and his circle showed they were in a head to head (with the diagonal line through it), so we couldn’t challenge them. The odd thing was that they kept just driving into us and in all directions, like they weren’t racing to an end point and this went on for 45 seconds (more than most head to heads). Who won the final showdown? They did. Never seen this before, so 99% certain it’s no glitch. Leaderboards are a joke as well.
If you’re on Xbox, check your settings to be sure you’re cross-platform play is off. You don’t want to play on Xbox with PC gamers.
It could add to lag. Also, Most PC gamers are fine but some may use a Trainer to cheat.
I play alot and can confirm there are cheaters, with video to prove it like below. I think he’s right though, they are likely all on PC as after disabling crossplay on my Xbox, I Havnt encountered any (so far)
Disabling crossplay does not mean you exclude PC gamers, it means you do not play against people outside of xbox live framework. You wont play against people on steam but will still play against people on PC who got the game from gamepass or windows store.
