Drifting with drag slicks

I’m sure it’s been asked but I can’t find the post anywhere on google so, I’ve been tuning a s2 class Buick with drag slicks to drift. So far I can get it to spin when I eBrake it on the circle @ horizon festival but I’m having really hard time controlling the front end. It won’t turn when I get up to speed no matter how I’ve tuned it. I know it’s possible, but what would be the best tire PSI? As well as other tunes if on hand. I ran it both soft and stiff in the antiroll, damping and such. Like I said managed to get it to turn some but when I get up and spin on a turn, I have no control of the front end so it’ll spin out or I’ll almost complete the circle and hit the wall at the end. I mind you it’s all done in first gear and tuned that way to not redline as I can get it to spin 60-70 without redlining, i just can’t get it to turn any better. I would post my tune setup but I’m not at home atm. It’s all low, toes out. I’ve even tried the formula drift tune on it, definitely and obviously didn’t work but helped get it loose. If I can get the car to turn as it drifts then this would be a perfect tune, for a beginner drifter. I normally use a rx7 in 2nd gear @ 45-50 on turns. Race slicks

Bump. Hello

Ive always had good results using drag slicks with 35-40 psi in the tires. the buick youre using is going to be terrible drifting around corners just due to the length of the car. PRO-TIP

swing the body the opposite way like a truck driver before e-braking into the turns. i also advise using cockpit view so you can really get a sense of where your steering wheel is pointing. add me on live: AnotherWhitey

In my experience, it is most likely the gear you’re in. Most of my cars I run in 3rd, maybe 4th gear (longer turns). So what i’ve notices is 2nd and 3rd gear would be used for small tight turns and 3rd and 4th for longer turns. I have drifted many cars over the years, including the Iron Knight (yes it drifts lol) and I have never used 1st or 2nd gear unless it’s a heavy heavy truck, or just doesn’t have the power.

As far as drag slicks, I usually use them in the motorsports series, but usually run street or sport on Horizon. Sometimes, I will even run stocks just for things like cheap builds or keeping a class in a certain tier for drifting. If you have questions, look for me on Xbox and I will be glad to try and help you out.
