? drift builds/tunes?

My son loves to drift as much as I love to race against others in road courses & ovals. The problem I have is that I have NO clue… ZERO knowledge on how to set up a car for drifting. I can set up a car pretty darn good for racing but for drift I don’t even know where to start.

I’ve searched for drift tunes… well, open source drift tunes so that I can learn the basic principles of setting up a drift car… basically looking at how the gear ratios are set up, stiffness of the sway bars & springs, how to set up the shocks, aero or no aero, etc…

Can anyone help me with this? He enjoys drifting in R Class… basically cars that would be an A or B class lapping car but set up in R Class for drifting… I’m talking out of my rear end here… I guess I’m saying he likes the high horsepower drift set ups.

If anyone can help a truly drift noob it will be greatly appreciated.

I.have never really done it but some of my team members are drifters, you may want to contact them PTG Beetfarmer or PTG MadMitch, they will help you out. Good luck budd.

Ps. You may also want to try the drifters padduck

Thanks brother… hard to find open source drift tunes or even a “how to” thread on setting up drift builds… well for me anyways. Seems like the “lappers” (not sure what we are called) share a bit more knowledge.

I would be glad to help you!!! I am not the best at it, but if I don’t know the answer I have a couple friends who will. I will open source one for you in the next couple of days.

All this cars are damn good drift cars specailly the Skyline after all the 1971 is one oft the first drift cars in japan and about the setups pretty much same build up for all cars one the list.
I use 550 up to 600 HP for good drift mix clutch and power drift, and i use the forza Aero for the downforce. " use the downforce luke "

I have 240SX shared
Few drifters (Killer Curtis and PTG Beetfarmer) have tested it and said it’s not perfect, but it’s very easy points drifter for beginners, If he likes it I can give you a run doown how i would set up any RWD car for drifting.
