Hi does anyone know why the drag strips are not available in free play? Are these unlocked at a certain driver level or something like that? If not I hope this is fixed in a future content update that was one of the best features in Forza 5.
Seems like they just left it out and haven’t even addressed the situation.
The only way to really free play drag races is to open multiplayer create a private lobby and change game settings to drag racing…you can try out your builds there, but have to back out of multiplayer to tune.
So is this the only way to get a countdown so you can be able to rev before the timer starts and actually get a result scrren at the end of the race…
Unlocking it a certain level? Nah, it’s just a Turn10 trolling us. They took if from us just for fun. Hilarious. ¬¬

They’re available in ‘Test drive’, I don’t know if you know that as I didn’t read your post, just the replies.
Sure, the tracks are there in test drive, but they are completely useless. You can’t tune for launch there. You can’t see an accurate time either, because they kick you out the moment you cross the finish line and you wouldn’t have had a proper launch anyway. Useless
OP was asking about free play, because I assume he is interested in drag racing outside of multiplayer, to which the answer is: There is none.
As for why there is none, well we can only speculate, because no one from Turn10 has said why that might be or why there are no leader boards either. My theory is that they simply don’t care about it at all. There is definitely some evidence to support this theory.

The fact that there’s not even a drag subforum leads me to believe there’s been a conscious decision to phase out key elements of drag racing. Drag racing topics get lost in the mass of ban the bac mono, ban the limo, ban the mini etc… There’s not even drag rivals!!
The only other theory in my mind is, they plan on a complete revamp of the drag racing gameplay. Maybe this is why they haven’t made leaderboards etc… I know this sounds laughable, but a guys got dreams!

This is so stupid of TURN10 because i realy don’t think it would take much to do a countdown clock and a final result board when you cross the finish line…
I used to love that in GT2 spent hours tweeking gear ratio and seing those ET’s go up even made some 1/4 mile cars.

They are but you can’t see your time because it cuts off to the menu, some people want to tune for acceleration and speed, btw is it so hard to add one big stretch to test actual max speed, i mean GT had for some time now or we always have to go to Le Mans Old Mulsanne circuit, which doesn’t have a very long and stable straight line

I seriously believe Forza will be dumbed down significantly to incorporate the average gamer, not the serious racing enthusiasts anymore.
Slowly removing aspects that made the game great from FM3-5, which is where it started to go backwards. Even Drifting has taken a dumbing down even compared to FM5. It’s really unfare offering drag slicks for various models of cars, (as ‘slicks’ aren’t avail on all upgrades for every car in FM6), yet not being able to test your final creation to ensure it works.
Additionally, the ‘slick’ upgrade should only be available on ‘rear’ tyres, not all 4… As you will see the front tyres change shape when you select drag tyre upgrades…
Various aspects of drifting selections and functions have been removed and or reduced… A developer only does those things when it’s in the process of eliminating an aspect of a game while expanding another.
It’s sad that’s for sure, but an inevitable one I think… Want drags, head back to FM5… 
Maybe there could be a drag racing inspired dlc? Who knows. I didn’t think there would be another dlc for horizon 2 but I was wrong.
It’s pretty easy really. Just take the free play restrictions off. Enable the drag leaderboards… Woo Laaa a bunch of people stop complaining. Implement searchable multiplayer lobbies a bunch more people shut up. Before you know everybody doesn’t have time to come here and complain cause their to busy playing forza 6… Problem solved.
