What is the best car for drag racing?
I’ve got a Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, but I’m quite bored of that now.
I’ve got a Nissan Skyliner GTR. Bored of that too.

Need a fresh car, any suggestions?
No worries about the setups, il do that my self

Depends on the person, u can make allot of them into drag cars in different classes. I have drag cars from lower classes up to R2s

Likewise.

To be honest, I tend to stay away from the R class cars for drag racing. You get to a point where everyone throws a four wheel drive tune at their cars, max them out and just have point and squirt races down the mile strip. Maybe I’m a bit of a masochist, but I like a car that’s a pain to tune, RWD and requires plenty of fine tuning to get the best from it on the 1/4. For me, I pretty much only use muscle cars, keep them rear wheel drive and keep the engine as stock as possible (as in no engine swaps or aspiration swaps). I am old in gaming terms though and to me, a big V8 in an American muscle car is just what I grew up watching at one of the few strips we have here in the UK. I’ll take a Euro car for circuit racing over a big, old muscle car any day. But when it comes to drag racing, those old American muscle cars are just sublime.

I don’t mind losing race either, so quite often square off a much lower P.I car than my opponent. Sometimes even a whole class difference. With the right tuning though, you would be surprised just how competitive you can be and how many races you can actually win.

I think my favorite cars that I’ve tuned myself are an S Class Fairlane with a quite unique ratio on the tranny (although it does have an engine swap) which has pulled a 9.484 before now, an S class AMD lobby Dodge Dart which runs a stock engine and no super/turbo chargers. Had that one in the high 10.1s, which seems to be a match for the V10 conversion guys. I’ve also got a '66 Nova AMD class which will put a 10.43 down on the stock motor and a Cuda that’ll do 11.0 on the stock motor. Again, neither have aspiration conversions.

But my absolute favorite is also one of my slowest cars. It’s a '69 Charger A582 for the AMD lobby. It’ll do a 11.061 on the quarter on the stock motor, which let me tell you was an absolute nightmare to tune! It has beaten V10 conversions many times, but it’ll hold it’s own against a surprising number of similar class cars. I ca’t get it into the 10s bracket, but I’ve yet to see a stock Charger manage that anyway. Against other V8 Chargers, it is right up there, even if I do say so myself.

If there was one American car I could ever own, it would be a '69 Charger with a Magnum engine. Why the Magnum when the Hemi is the one to have? No idea, I just like the noise it makes more than the Hemi. There is a D class Charger that I have tuned too to match, or at least get as close as the game will allow to the actual real world performance, rather than the in game performance of a stock, show room fresh 440 Magnum Charger. Didn’t think it would be much cop, but again, it’s a handy bit of pig iron against other D class cars.

IF ANY ONE CAN HELP ME I NEED HELP BEATING A BUGATI VARON SS ITS MAXED OUT IT BEATS EVERY CAR I HAVE AND IDOUNT HAVE ALL THE CARS IN THE GAME EITHER I GOT THE XBOX CRISTMAS BUNDAL VERSION OF THE GAME MY FRIEND BEAT MY X999 FERRARI RACE CAR

Nothing will beat the Bugatti SS. PI is a rating for overall performance. On a circuit race, the Ferrari will dust the SS. On a strip, it’s the other way around. The Bugatti has WELL over 1,000 HP and all wheel drive. Just check the drag leaderboards and you can see the best times for each class. However, be wary of modders, as they absolutely litter those leaderboards… Most of the time, the fastest legitimate time will be from a club like CMR, or so I’ve found. Just look for their times and see what cars they use and what times they get.

The main person that runs in CMR has a very “special” controller but anyone from PCAJ does everything with just a normal everyday controller.

Depending on the class the SS is pretty much the top dog, the Ultima GTR is the closes competition.

Can you clarify your ( special ) controller comment?

He clutch slips just like all of us top people but he has a bolt holding his clutch to a specific spot and he adjusts it accordingly but it is to a MUCH MUCH higher degree than what we can do with our own fingers and triggers. so when he is about to get out of the clutch he pauses it switches controlers so that he is able to shift (since his other has a locked down trigger) but it makes him very very hard to catch.
