Don't start the game in Hot Wheels mode

Every time I start Forza Horizon 5 I’m always on the Hot Wheels island (even if I exited the game in Mexico).

Would it be possible not to do this? I’m not interested in Hot Wheels, at all, so having to travel back to Mexico every time is very irritating. So is always having to skip the Hot Wheels tab in the menu (even if I’m not in the Hot Wheels mode).

I understand that someone in the development team must be anxious to hit their KPIs, but this kind of nudging is just counterproductive. At least for me: whatever little interest I had in Hot Wheels is now killed. It just feels like the Hot Wheels DLC is being pushed down the players’ throats.

Could you please start the game on the same map the player was when they exited the game the last time? And maybe don’t show the Hot Wheels tab unless the player is on the Hot Wheels island? Or maybe at least put it somewhere so that it doesn’t constantly get in the way?

Thanks!

UPDATE: I tried disabling the Hot Wheels DLC in Steam. This improves the situation somewhat (the game starts in Mexico), but the Hot Wheels tab is still in the menu, between the Campaign and Cars tabs (I guess to annoy players into purchasing the DLC).

Set one of your house in Mexico as Home and you will be starting in Mexico and not in Hot wheels

Okay, that should help with the starting location. The question remains though why it was changed in the first place.

My complaint is less about this specific problem and more about the general issue: decisions like changing the home location automatically and placing the Hot Wheels menu tab in the most annoying location are user-hostile because they make the experience of playing the game worse.

Nah, its fine
It was in previous Horizon games too, so nothing new

I agree, it has frustrated me for a week straight. I will try set a home in Mexico, I never tried that. I figured that when I previously set my home, it would stay that way. It seems like they are intentionally frustrating users, I don’t remember this happening when I did the rally DLC?

Anyways, I am glad that there is a fix for this, I should have searched for this awhile ago. I would suggest an icon in the menu somewhere which at least tells you where your home is.

Yeah, setting the player house is an easy fix, but I know what you mean about deciding things like that for you. I feel the same way about how challenges/accolades/medals, or whatever they’re called in each respective DLC, are auto pinned to the screen. I feel that maybe I ought to be able to decide that for myself.
Every time I travel to The Hot Wheels park it “reminds” me what it thinks I still need to do, even though I’m there just to do a weekly challenge. It’s kind of a pain to always have to unpin and as far as I can tell there’s no way to turn that off.
