I am out now, watched a few clips on Fm8 and one guy showcased the tracking in free play, rivals and multiplayer. Where is the drag strip? I recall it being in Rivals or atleast Multiplayer in older Forzas??
Is it there? I can’t check now but someone take a look at this? Maybe I did not look properly or it is in a different section. That is ridiculous if it is not there. It was fun to set lap times/race in multiplayer, heck I’d be tuning for hours doing that haha. All to beat the best on the leaderboards. Any ideas?
Thanks.
EDIT: What about the Top Gear test tracks, those were absolutely on Rivals/pushing leaderboards. We know the Nurburgring isn’t in there yet so that is fine I guess since it’ll come later.
Previous Forza Motorsport games did have drag strips at launch, but for the new one they left it out at launch. There is a good chance it gets added at a later point.
For more info, check this post:
There’s little clarity on what tracks will get added. Yas Marina will get added in the first monthly update (November), there will be a yet to be announced track in Dec and the Nordschleife will get added in spring 2024.
Forza intends to add a track with monthly updates, but they’ve alreay said there might not be a new track every month. If you want to see a specific track, be sure to vote on it (suggestion hub - track voting).
Launch for now is the first month. The game will evolve with monthly updates.
Ah I see, thanks for explaining. So will there be an update this month or will they skip this month and start fresh next month?
Man, so that means there won’t be drag strips for atleast a few months since they have already confirmed that Yas Marina is first in line for November. Would it be possible for them to add drag strips at random away from the monthly updates? Like maybe next week or something? A drag strip isn’t much work especially when compared to the other much bigger complex tracks.
This month is the launch of the game, so no content update. Of there is an update it will be a hotfix for reported problems.
In their articles they mentioned tracks will be added with the monthly updates, so don’t expect anything outside of those. Maybe in the far future when they do add a drag mode, they might release drag strips shortly after each other. But don’t expect that without a prior announcement.
from what i understand drag racing will be added later this may seem a let down but i can only hope that turn 10 expand and rework the drag racing options like reaction times and take the whole drag racing thing more seriously maybe we can expect the longer we wait for it to surface the better it will be. cross your fingers
I would be absolutely serious about making that bet. With the stipulation that taking it more seriously and reworking would imply them implementing some sort of A/F mixture tuning and turbo blowoff timing. Along with full trees, tire warmups, wheelie bars, Etc.
That to me is what taking it seriously would look like. But they havent put half that effort into implementing authentic road track racing systems like the wear/fuel and pits or qualifying.
They’ve teased and BB’ed drag racing in both motorsport AND horizon for over a decade now. Its never happening.
well if you look at the header pic in my cars “buy or rent” on lh side i see an older model what looks like pro street or early funny car so cross your fingers maybe after all the drag racing woes we might just be in for a pleasant surprise. if they were just going to rehash Forza 7’s Dismal drag racing it would have been in the game already. perhaps the longer we wait the better it will be
How so?
They’ve brought back plenty of stuff from 7 just to do it worse. You cant zoom or pan the camera when editing or painting a vehicle. Look at all the missing track layouts for existing tracks. There is no limit to how underwhelming they can deliver on a feature.
Conventional logic might agree with you. But theres not a sign of any kind of logic to anything they’ve done in this game.
What kind of logic takes the 3 cars that started the modern hypercar class, out of the modern hypercar division and puts them in Modern Grand Touring division?
