i only have the edition that is available on game pass. i havnt the funds for a true purchase yet. impressed though so, as soon as funds are available, i will be buying this. and probably the complete package too. one thing that jumps out at me, is the forza drift cars. if i find them in the market place it says they cost credits. if i remember correctly, it was said that the cars will be free for a one time “purchase”. am i misunderstanding something? if the dlc is installed, why do i have to “buy” the cars? in forza 7, dlc cars were simply added to my garage.

If you have bought the DLC, the cars are free. But they are not just added to your garage automatically. From what I can tell (i.e. this is the way I did it), you have to select each car individually and, yes, go through the process of ‘buying’ it. Although it doesn’t actually cost you anything.
There is a Car Pass/DLC tab in the pause menu. If you go to that, it groups all of your DLC in one place. There’s a tab for the Bond stuff and for the Drift pack. You then have to go into that and add each car, one after the other. It will show as costing 0 credits. It’s a bit of a pain in the backside but all it costs you is the time it takes.

I have the gamepass version too which comes with the drift pack. On the DLC tab is shows that I have purchased that DLC, but it shows each car as 300k CR. So not free in game. That’s a bit crap.

whichever menu i find it on, or in whichever order i do it, it always seems to shaow as costing 300 000 credits. in the dlc tab, if i click it, it even says “this has been purchased”. it still shows as costing credits in the menu. the only real reason i havnt just tried it is cause, well, early on, 300 000 is a lot of cash :). ill do it anywayh and see what happens.
so, i tried it. it did indeed cost me the 300 000. i imagine it has something to do with it being game pass but i dont know how the game would know this. anyhoo, for pass players like myself, the cars do cost what they appear to cost. on one hand, a bit of a bummer. on the other, i get to play the game before i can actually afford to buy it so, still win for me 
I don’t know if it makes a difference, but I have the game via Game Pass, but purchased the Ultimate Add-On Pack, and I can add the DLC cars to my garage for free. (All the Drift and Bond cars.)

I am assuming this is specific to Game Pass players then. For digital/physical owners of the game, all DLC vehicles are free for the first “purchase”. You can then buy duplicates for CR.

that is probably because you purchased actual dlc. the standard game pass download comes with the drift cars by default by the looks of it, but i didnt actual “buy” any dlc. it would appear purchased dlc works the way i assumed it would, as it did in forza games past.

Game pass users only have the standard edition, with no DLC is my understanding. The FD cars, and other DLC may show up in game, but it would prompt you to by the pack first.

as i said before. the game pass edition did/does download the drift cars. but doesnt “give” them to you. you have to get them still with in game creds. fair considering theres been no money down on the base game.

The game will display the DLC cars regardless, it has done that for several versions now, it will just prompt you to buy the pack before you can buy any cars. Are you sure you didn’t buy the pack on accident first?

As has been said several times, Drift pack IS included in Gamepass and these cars show up as purchased in game. But it still asks you to buy with credits. Clearly a bug.

Can I get the cars from DLC car packages directly into my garage in the FH4? Or do I have to click on each car separately? Or is there a easier way?
Go to autoshow view all cars press Y (i think) to filter cars by value press LB twice to see the 0 value cars and they should be there, you have to download each one .

Not sure why they don’t go right to your garage but they don’t. You have to select each one individually and go through all the animations. The worst part is that you have to re-open “Buy Cars” section and sort by price to find the next one to add. It is a bit laborious but still nice to have free cars.

I seen the post that the formula drift cars has a bug. Even though they all show as purchased it says 300k to buy instead of free or 0. I understand it’s only the formula cars?
It’s actually X to sort by value.
For myself, the purchaser of the game, and an alias, all cars from drift, bond, vip, and dlc have been free to add
Im do’n 2-3 at a time. I’ll grab bonus boards between houses then download more. Ive still got 12 to go. I did a lot of driving & signs last nite & didnt mess with dlc
