DLSS? or AMD Equivelant for FH5?

Hey, I was wondering if anyone knows or thinks FH5 will feature Nvideas DLSS (Deep learning super sampling) as it would give the game a huge performance boost. AMD’s version is still new so I doubt that they would use that. The Xbox series S & X uses chips from AMD, so i doubt they would feature an Nvidea exclusive , but having some sort of machine learning enhancement would make FH5 even better and could be used for base Xbox ones. whatever it is, this addition to the Forza universe looks absolutely amazing…

Since AMD’s “version” is open source and available for use anywhere No question it will be an option. That being said, with all the hype this game is getting and how incredible it looks? I’m SURE Nvidias team will be all over a DLSS release quickly following the games launch. If for nothing else just to showcase their tech. The way I see it? Pretty much every major AAA title will probably support DLSS. After RDR2 got it? I can’t see them opting out of any visually-demanding game.

DLSS would be pretty cool. But it’s a bit late for that as the game has already been announced.

My understanding is that both FSR and DLSS are easy to implement into a game. Both is definitely possible.

Personally, I really hope DLSS is in. FSR was a fine attempt by AMD, but at the end of the day it’s just a uprez and sharpening filter. An exceptionally good one, but nothing more. DLSS is the double whammy of being an AI reconstruction (which in some cases can look better than native resolution) and being the best AA option. I’ve never tried it on a racing game though, and it has the potential to look really bad in FH4.

This is due to the fact that the reconstruction is done based on a combination of temporal frame tracking and prediction, similar to TAA. Works great in most situations, but can lead to odd behaviours and a smeared look when things are moving really quickly, as is often the case in racing games. DLSS is rapidly getting better though, so who knows, it could be fine.

Honestly I think it depends on if they choose to let us use ray tracing outside of photo mode or not. If they don’t, they won’t really be motivated to add DLSS or FSR in (though they still might if they find the time). If they do, then one will almost definitely be required.

I just want ray-traced reflections in the game. Shadows would be cool but expensive, and lighting, especially global illumination, would probably bring even the most godly computer to it’s knees. I feel like reflections would be the biggest payoff for the cost, especially since PGG is already so good at lighting and shadows using traditional methods. Anyways, that’s enough of my tangent.

Please add dlss/dlaa support
At 4k your game is still quite jaggy especially for far off objects…all you have given us to combat this is fxaa which is actively making the game look worse in other ways and does little to help the jaggies and shimmering.

Rdr2 proved dlss can vastly help with overall image quality and improve the image quality over “traditional” anti aliasing solution. It is quite baffling support for this isn’t 8n the game already

Your helping people 2 fold by adding this. People who can run it at 4k will be able to get a nicer image (and smooth out those few moments it may drop frames) and you are making the game more playable for those running RTX cards. Dynamic resolution scaling isn’t a solution. It makes the game look vastly worse even on the highest setting.

Edit - while I’m at it please let us enable RT dying gameplay without needing to resort to sketchy things like using cheats engine to enable it tyvm.

Id like to ask the team if they could consider adding DLSS or FSR to PC version of the game. While FH5 is pretty well optimized, DLSS or FSR would really help it run better on higher refresh rate monitors running at 144-240hz. It would also provide a far better solution than the current “resolution scaling” option that has much lower image quality at even “ultra quality” settings.

Lastly, It would make the game a lot more accessible to people on lower end video cards who will be able to utilize higher graphics settings. DLSS or FSR is a win-win for FH5 players and it would be absolutely amazing to have it.

Thank you.
