Yep. Sim steering, deads set to 0-2, and my cars like the Jesko are simply unmanageable compared to before. I’ve done everything under tuning to no avail. At speed the car is simply unstable and can pitch out and spin out at any slight movement of the pad. Even with aero maxed out, any level of camber, and lowered tire pressure.
If I even touch off track my cars now will understeer so severely it will go straight and lock steering once the tires feel dirt and go way off track.
Maybe I can try normal steering to see if that helps but I always preferred the feeling of sim.
Now the only cars remotely enjoyable are STOCK cars without the option to tune anything other than tires. Go figure.
I had my Jesko so dialed in before, it was by no means easy to drive but it felt real in that I can get aggressive with it control all that power. Felt sublime. Now if I go anything more than 60% throttle the car just goes berserk and can barely stay on the road. Oversteer, understeer, you name it.
It genuinely has ruined the game for me. And spending hours retuning cars to try to find balance I already had in itself ruins the game. Really frustrating cause I really liked the game.
Clearly drifting changed their entire physics model.
I hope not. Racing should never suffer for drifting.
I’ve said it before and I say it again. Turn 10 needs to figure out exactly what Forza Motorsport is and religiously stick to that without ever wavering. Add features if you want but don’t change that sacred Forza Motorsport foundation. DiRT flip-flopped wildly from game to game. Project CARS 3 wasn’t bad, per se, but had no business sharing the same name with two predecessors that were something dramatically different. Forza Motorsport needs to pick a clear identity and stay with that.
I haven’t noticed any changes, maybe a little less understeer.
I’ve tested my reference cars on my reference circuits, for example the 911GT2RS on the Nürburgring Nordschleife and I’ve copied the times before update 13.
I’ve read some complaints about the newly added Mustangs here, but they drive as they should, you just have to read some magazines or watch some reviews on Youtube, so my congratulations to T10.
In addition to all this, I must say that I basically drive almost all the cars in stock, except for some cars like the LaFerrari, Porsche 918 or the McLaren P1, which I lowered a little in performance, especially when cornering to adapt them to the times of the real ones, or the Aston Martin Valkyrie on the road, which I lowered a lot because in the game it is much faster than in real life.
My manual clutch guys and gals, did you notice the rpm’s hanging and slowly coming down, under full brake and clutch pushed in…? I’ll try to record tomorrow.
The new mustang they added the gt500 it seems to always go to the left on full throttle take off burning tires. I guess it seems more realistic. Haven’t drove much else, lack of rear grip in the turns? Likes to oversteer but then again I didn’t spend alot of time tuning just threw something quick in there. Oh yea have y’all noticed the clutch upgrade works now? So race trans cars bounce the tach some cars anyways put the clutch and it shifts better . I do kinda like that upgrade. Guess I’ll have to buy that from now on So
Try 0/100 deadzones and play around with steering centering and your individual car tunes. None of my cars are unstable, undrivable, or some of the issues you have described. Otherwise I would have picked them up right away. I’ve been pretty critical of the game myself but the physics is definitely not an issue.
Is your controller updated? Do you have any stick drift issues? Control honestly is the best it has ever been since launch.
Just check your settings and individual tunes. The issue has to be somewhere in there. Or, create a support thread with videos to help the devs spot any potential problems so that people can vote on it.
Have you done real track driving? No changes have been made to the physics and I’ve been playing the regularly through all updates. The only thing they addressed was the unusual understeer as cars are now finally responsive at the centre without you having to go full analogue stick on every turn.
I’ve not noticed any handling changes after the update.
If there was increased/decreased grip, it would have certainly become apparent when hotlapping the AMR Pro around the Nordschleife (as that combo pushes the physics to their limits), but my pace was pretty much identical to pre-patch. Not noticed anything unusual with other cars I’ve raced either.
Granted I’m on a wheel, and maybe Turn 10 changed some behaviour in how pad steering filtering works (instead of changing the actual physics). Or it could all be placebo.
I think stock is the most pleasurable way to drive especially now. Stock cars imo now feel more in tune with how they should. Modded could go either way.
How do I update my controller? I haven’t manually done it unless it updates automatically.
So I’ve figured out the ONLY way to have a decent drive now with high powered cars is with normal steering setting as opposed to simulation. I’m a good enough driver where I was doing well with simulation on a pad with FM warns is difficult and doesn’t seem to recommend.
Now? Simulation with cars like Jesko is impossible. The snap oversteer impossible to combat with a pad.
So I went to normal and I can now control the car. The downside is I can’t stand ANY assist and filtered feel from the steering and it’s not as raw and connected as simulation. So regardless, the game isn’t won’t be as pleasurable as it used to be for me, as least with crazy power cars. But I can actually drive and push the car with normal steering.
Im sure it’s fine, car hasn’t been throughly setup yet. Was just in a hurry to hear it and disappoint my self.
Only car I had an issue with was the Jordan Camaro. Default tune handled fine, go adjusting anything and on or off gas get bad snap oversteer coming off the turns. All my cars handle great but that one had me stumped a bit… like why suddenly get loose? I see the front tires getting hot but that should make it push… right? But suddenly the rear kicks out like I’m drifting.
Or was I just over running the car that hard in the turns…?
I think the game is mostly or at least partially back on track for me. At least it seems for now.
I’m even back on sim steering for now. I’m still losing control more than pre update I think but either I’m getting a hang of the new ish physics or the controller update and adjusting some controller settings really helped.
Cautiously optimistic but I even set a lap record with my Jesko on sim steering and a new tune. Albeit with lots of rewind corrections. But that’s a good sign.
Maybe FM is tweaking things to feel better behind the scenes as well?
The issues you are reporting are very strange indeed. I’ll rent the Jesko and post videos of gameplay. This may be an issue at your end, otherwise people would be complaining left and right. The physics and control to me feel the best they have ever been.
As for updated your controller, launch the accessories app, then you’ll see three small dots at the bottom. Go into that and you will see the option to update. Didn’t know it updates the controller automatically. I always check from time to time.
“Maybe FM is tweaking things to feel better behind the scenes as well?”
Yes, they do often make updates behind the scenes and you won’t find anything in the release notes. Those are usually QoL improvements the game gets over time.
