Dark interior cam when blue sky

When you go to interior cam when the sky is blue everything is horribly dark. How to FIX it?

Chase cam:

Have you tried tinting the windows? I don’t know if it will work, though.

Tinting doesn’t affect the front windshield, only the other windows. And you can only make windows darker in the paint shop.

I don’t know if this is a glitch or if it was intended to make windshields appear tinted, but I don’t think it can be changed. Maybe you can adjust the game brightness and get it to look the way you want? I don’t know. I drive in this view and have learned to just live with it. I’m a night person anyway and I’m not a fan of bright sun.

I have more of a problem with the car interiors of some cars being reflected onto the windshield in the worst possible locations, distracting me from seeing where I’m going.

There are issues with the brightness varying wildly from view to view in some cars. I’ve recently been dealing with a couple, one of which is the Ford Ranger, which have a way-brighter hood view than the other views, to the point that it oversaturates in the Outback sun.

Yea it happens on alot of cars, was in a McLaren F1 in broad daylight then when I went in cockpit view I wondered how it suddenly went darker.

Would it not have something to do with the sun being straight overhead with no angle to illuminate the interior through the windows? You can see the shadow edge on the driver’s hand and gauges in the first photo.

The thing is that it affects exterior views. This is made most obvious when driving in hood view, then pushing the right stick back to look behind you. The brightness in the cars I’ve been driving will change drastically from hood to rear view.

Since I’m using cockpit view a lot more now (hood was my previous favorite), I’ve discovered that this dark-cockpit problem can be cured by going into a race event. You don’t even need to start the race. Just blueprint something with clear daylight–early afternoon will do–go into the event, then quit out of the race. Cycling through the views will show about the same brightness across all of them.

I think it’s coming out of a festival that can sometimes cause the problem. I don’t think it’s the deep-blue sky itself. I need to do more testing, but this at least is a workable option.
