Odd darkness when in cockpit view on Sebring

So i am not sure how recent this is but I was just on Sebring and i notieed that the internal view was quite dark, compared to the external views and even the rear view from inside, I changed cars and it was was still the same. I jumped to Silverstone to see if it was the same but the brightness was fine in the cockpit, exactly the same levels as the external views.

Anyone know what this is?

anyone?

I can’t tell exactly what is causing the issue, but I also noticed that the cockpit view is darker than the outside view. Especially when you are driving through the tunnels on the Dubai or the Rio race tracks you will barely be able to see anything on the default settings (on an HDR screen). The light sources are also displayed in a different way in the cockpit view.

I recommend to drastically increase the brightness in the options when you are in the main menu. I did that and the game looked less gloomy and closer to the look of Gran Turismo Sport and other racing simulations.

We cannot choose what time of day it is. This changes the lighting. Look at formula E driver’s cup event vs. driver’s cup forza GT event in mount panorama.

Also look at the auto hdr of your television, I have it disabled, now it is a little better.

But you’re right, the playable experience from the cockpit is worse.
Lighting shouldn’t just be aesthetic, but the effect is overdone.

You will see this not necessarily on one track but any track where the lighting conditions are ‘low contrast’ - so early morning, late afternoon, early evening and so on. There’s nothing you can do whether you game on an HDR or SDR screen. The lighting engine isn’t the best, although looks somewhat nicer than Forza 6.
