D3D12 support Required?

Hi, can’t even access the game because of this error message upon activation of the game, current Nvidia drivers are up to date, I run an EVGA 970 4GB, which is Directx12 compatible, with it installed, 8GB of ram and obviously Windows 10 installed, theres no work around, the game won’t launch if I ask it to ‘run anyway’

I also have no integrated graphics that I know of to disable, as I heard that may have been an issue with Forza 6. Any help or suggestions cause I just like to give the game a try at the very least.

Do you have the latest WindowsUpdate? (Creators update?)

http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=799445

to check if you have a integrated graphics card, right click start - “device manager” - “display adapters”

Updated to the latest Windowsupdate because the store wouldnt let me install it otherwise, and yes there is no intergrated graphics, just my Nvidia Card.

In Forza Horizon 3 there was this trick, if you see that message pop up about D3D12, hold “Page Up” key and select “finish/quit/continue/whatever button” , and the game should continue to load.

Other solution :

Completely uninstall your graphics card driver and reinstall it again using DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller), new Nvidia drivers came out also btw.
http://www.wagnardsoft.com/DDU/download/DDU%20v17.0.7.5.exe

Even more solutions :

First solution doesnt work, second solution doesn’t work either, AND the most recent Driver for Nvidia is causing my PC screen to constantly go black and back again…and the other solutions don’t seem to help this issue.

Do you run any programs in the background that might interfere with the game or your graphics card? otherwise idk, maybe something is corrupted in your Windows10 for some weird reason.

You could check the crashreport.xml if you have it.

C:\Users<accountname>\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.ApolloBaseGame_8wekyb3d8bbwe\AC\Temp\Turn10Temp.scratch\crashreport.xml

Dont run afterburner or anything that would effect it…

<?xml version="1.0"?>

Thats the crash report, I dont understand it though

Seems like your card is not being detected at all, it’s all “0” … must be something corrupted.

I just remember, do you run a multi-screen setup? or just 1 monitor, i remember in Forza Horizon 3 people used to have this D3D problem with certain multiple screen setups.
Right click “Start” - “Run” - type “Dxdiag” , What does it say at the “Display” tab? Those 3 DirectX features should all be Enabled.

Other solutions you could try

Start - Settings (Cogwheel Icon) - Apps & Features - Xbox - Advanced options - Reset
Start - Settings (Cogwheel Icon) - Apps & Features - Forza Motorsport 7 - Advanced options - Reset

Fix problems with apps from Microsoft Store - Microsoft Support

Right click Start - Command Prompt (Admin)
sfc /scannow
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Try to create a new windows user account

Start button, Settings - Accounts - Family & other people - Add someone else to this PC.
Enter a user name, password, password hint, and then select Next.

If all above does not work, reinstall Windows10 clean or update to the latest Windows-Insider preview build.

Tried all of the above, Im not reinstalling Windows for just this game though, when everything else runs flawlessly. All the DirectX features are enabled, and I have it hooked up to a larger TV, but is only on when I need it, which is not now. Tried everything else with no avail.

Its something with the software…

You could try to go in nvidia control panel , “setup multiple displays” and put it to a single screen mode. or just right click desktop and also check “display settings”, to put that to single-mode. and test the game again.

Yep, tried both as well

Thanks for helping me, really. But I don’'t know where we go from here…

I don’t know either, perhaps unplugging the hdmi cable from the back of your graphics card, the one that’s going to your TV… and try again… but besides that i have no clue, i would google around for this particular problem, maybe there is a solution on another forum?

I still think it’s some kind of weird Windows10 corruption.

Are you choosing custom install and do a clean install when you update your Nvidia drivers?

I have the same card and have not seen this.

Did a clean with DDU and selected custom…its just so infuriating why it just doesn’t work. But when you pick custom was there certain options you didnt select?

You don’t need to use DDU… it’s 2017, not 1999 lol. It’s built into the driver installer to do a custom install, and to perform a clean install.

Yes its 2017 and NV drivers act like its 1999.

You do know that NV admitted they screwed up with drivers leaving HUGE chunks behind after fresh “clean” installs?GFE STILL does it for some people(90% less but it still happens).
What does DDU have to do whith his re-install that he asked a question about?O wait,NOTHING.

Well see the latest Nvidia driver caused my PC to black screen every 30 or so seconds so I wanted to make sure that every trace of it was gone so I could revert to a previous driver. But seeing as that issue is resolved Ill uninstall these drivers as youve just stated. So Ill report back soon.

Also my intel integrated graphics has been deactivated via BIOS, would it be necessary to uninstall ‘Intel Processor Graphics’?

Going through my programs to see if anything would counteract with the game.

I usually leave out “Stereoscopic 3D/3D Vision” and “Geforce Experience”

Alright Ill give that a try after work.

Best to uninstall that driver since you’ve disabled it in BIOS.

Also you could try to use IOBit-DriverBooster, it’s a pretty good program and it’s free that scans your system and shows all the drivers it can update from “Device-manager”
