I have a Nvidea GTX 1080 Ti but Forza motorsport 7 will not load (windows 10) saying I need D3D12 support. Nvidea control panel and directX diagnostics both say I have DirectX 12 installed. Anyone else had this problem?

Have you updated the card?
maybe your pc can not handle the game you know its forza and turn10 so you should be ready surprises like this
I am having the same issue. I just upgraded to a new PC. It has a 1080 ti and all the specs are way above the requirements (and DirectX 12 is installed). The first thing I did after putting this guy together was to make sure all the Windows updates, driver updates and game updates were ready to go. Both Forza 7 and Horizon 3 give me a warning that my system is not DirectX12 compatible (but they both let me ignore and play anyway). Could it be that the app the software uses to check compatibility is not updated properly?
I have had many issues running this game on 1080ti, most of them i`ve had on my 980 also but some are somehow exclusive. I can say that for some reason especially in the first few months the game was a bit more stable on 980 than on the newer card. Which is odd…
Just to be clear on the question of my PC spec, it is way over the requirements. As well as the 1080Ti it has Intel i7, 16 gb ram. All drivers are up to date. Interestingly it now seems that pressing continue anyway gives me about a 10% chance of running the game. Otherwise I do not even get the splash screen without the PC freezing.
Should I try uninstalling the game and reinstalling it. It is the Windows Live version…
Thanks for your help.
Forgot to add that is a brand new Alienware PC from Dell. The game came as a free offer. Dell say it is a Forza problem.
Found the problem for me. I didn’t even think about it, but my new MOBO has a built-in video card. Completely unused, but the game was detecting it and throwing up the error. I disabled the other video adapter in device manager and no more message.
