CW's Tuning Guide + Calc + Free FM7 mobile Web app

Here we are again folks, this is now the 4th Forza title for my Tuning Guide and Free Calc. With over 110k+ hits total and 65k+ alone on FH3, it has been a great success. It’s so awesome and makes me very happy that so many people have been able to create tunes for their favourite cars using my guide and calc.
With no major changes to the tuning section of the game, the calc remains very much the same. There may be some small updates in the near future.

P.S admin it would be great if you could make this a sticky post again please.

So here it is your guide on how to tune a car on Forza Motorsport and Forza Horizon Titles.
This is designed to be as simple as possible to give you a strong, reliable base to work from or to hit multiplayer with.
User friendly mainly for people starting out in tuning. My methods are not necessarily the definitive way to tune, just offering another angle to tune from. please feel free to leave feedback by dropping a comment below.
My spreadsheet is designed to work along side the guide and involve you more in the tuning process, or if you prefer to tune and go this will get you well on your way.

NOTE spreadsheet may appear on a live Web page it is advisable to download or save it if you can from the Web page. You should have no problem viewing on Excel offline. Usable on your mobile as well if you have an app that allows you to read Excel files on your device.

>GUIDE IN DOC< This is the link to the guide as a word and pdf document.

Thanks for reading guys, don’t forget to drop a comment and a like on the post if you find this use full, positive and constructive criticism is always welcome.

Thanks for sharing this. I will definitely have a read through your guide. Just a heads up though that the link to the spreadsheet calculator is broken.

Vaillant, you may have to send CesarsWrath a PM or message through Xbox so he can restore it. It looks like someone has made a change and then delected the file.

I have a similar file built based on the guides. If you want a copy, I’ve sent you a PM with the link. Your free to download this to your laptop / pc / phone as long as it is running Excel 2007 or newer.

Yep seems to be the same issue I had last time, give me some time, I’m racing his evening so I’ll jump on it as soon as I’m done :+1:

Alright the links have been refreshed and some slight moddification to the spreadsheet have also been made. Thank you for you patience.

Thank you for this! Looking forward to tuning some cars.

No worries let me know how you get on :+1:

How has everyone been getting on with this?

Pretty good although the calculator has a tendency to give me values i can’t use for the springs.

Would you be good enough to provide an example, to see if it’s somthing that I can help you with.

This is true ,for both the calc out there ,the forza 7 calc as well as the qt have this problem ,mostly with the off road vehicles ,example the 1970 volkswagen baja as well as the other offroad beetle, the. It gives spring and arb nrs that are much higher then possible, even worse if Using the adjust tune to more over / under/ stiffer…etc option .
The forza 7 tune is having the option forza horizon 4 ,but track wise only general use instead of all the track specifics of the f7 game.
The gear calculator has the tendency to lean to much to speed in the final drive,if one upgrades the bigger engines( which one to my opinion should not do from stock to lets say 6.2 l the gerbox is a joke in the f 7 tune ,leaving the gears like they are after upgrading to the adjustable gearbox without ajusting the fd ,isnt always that good either ,yet way better then the one you get with the f 7 tune.
Which is in fh4 also a bit more trouble since There isnt the total car specs option in the garage menu ,like in all the forza editions( in the garage menu one can select all the car spec of a car from name to class to weigth and to torque per rpm etc) Besides the fact that rpm for max torgue is not given by nr only in the grafiq in the upgrade menu you can see howmuch aprox, ione has to keep switching between the tune and upgrading menu for all the stats, while in forza 4 to 7 one cN see all the cars specs in the garage menu.
Last but not least if come to the conlusion that the ridd hight calc nrs in forza h 4 are not ideal ,if one puts them on the so much named 4 clicks the car has way to much understeer and raising the height to half the max or more without changing any other things in the tune is takng way of that problem away.
What i mean is that If one used the 4 click height all the other tuning parts need a lot of adjusting to get around that, compared to what needs to be adjust if ride height is way higher.
Forza horizon 4 is a game to my opinion, wleans more to higher ride height anyway due to the fact that there a so much off road off track tracks as well as the rally like dirt tracks, aka snow tracks which ask for a way higher height anyway then the regular forza games, which dont even count the time if one goes a bit out of track, ive got numerous top 1% times on those games 2 so its not an excuse or comment, its just a fact that stiff riding with low height is way more suitable for forza 4 to 7 then it is for horizon ,this was already the case in horizon 1 to 3 ,Simple saying a bit less nice,The low ride height the calc gives for standard as well as drift tunes sound nice in theory but is is a lot of bs in reality( note that the snow or dirt tune is working way better with the reight height, but those values are 12 cliks.
If you dont agree try the subary 2015 rally car just standard with no upgrding or changing the tune( the right height is max with that, but that setting is far worse then using the calc nrs and with that the 4 clicks height.
In the end i tuned this car withe the known mathe form using the weight % nr ,and setting the camber on the road as well ass tyre pres, the only thing i needed to fine tune after that was the diff settimg and after just 3 runs i had the perfect tune( perfect for me i have to say off course ) with the calc ride height there was so much to do… well even the lotus or the 22 b handels crap.
( I appologize for all the type or spelling errors ,the speed of what comes to mind is way off scale with the speed of typing needed )

I wonder who of you all agrees with me that its remarkble how well some of the fromt wheel drive cars do without even adjusting the default tune or upgrading, the honda civic type r is a blast ,also very surprising is the fact that the bentley handels fantastic in the city tracks while thats not to be expected from such a car .

Not this quoted comment, the essay above lol.
So yea, sorry dude you totally lost me, my brain shut off after half way through. I couldn’t really work out what you was trying to say or point out. You spent most of your time commenting about the Forza Tune 7 app, that is somthing completely different, unrelated and by somebody else. Was you trying to make a comparison of some sorts?
I apologise I completely missed your point, even reading it again, I’m not sure what your saying.

Love this Calculator man, just wondering though if this one works for other forza games other then FH4 and FM7 as well, or are there like separate ones for the other games?

It does my good man, I started this back on FM6 and on to FH3. So it’s been going strong now for a couple of years now. The basic physics of the games have changed very little over the years. The tuning and upgrade option have barely changed either. I would even say this would work on the 1st Forza Motorsport. Glad you like it :+1:

Hey man, the spreadsheet doesn’t work anymore, is it deleted or something? Since I can’t open it anymore

hi all has anyone tried the android/ios apps?
