Curious if anyone else has done this

Yesterday I was working at my career racing the 1994 Nissan #75 Cunningham Racing 300ZX from the October DLC Pack at Sebring. This track is actually one of my favorites and the track I use to tune my cars. The race was fine until the start when I noticed that this Nissan does not have any headlights. I run no assisted and no brake lines. So I had to stay in second place to I was able to kinda use the 1st place car’s headlights. There was even a couple of times I was racing in pitch black darkness and had to guess where the track was…Has anyone else had this surprise?

Yes many people have. Sadly, you must pick a better lit track or a car with headlights…

Maybe if there was some way to install a new hood that had a ton of headlights on the front like on those darn rally cars…

I didn’t realize that this car didn’t have headlights until this race, it sure was a good challenge and I placed 2nd. The rally cars do put out some nice lightning, I have a Lancia set up that way for doing the night races in the B hopper. My Lancia I think has 6 or 8 headlights now.

But do the extra lights work or are they just for show?

They don’t seem to make any difference as far as I can tell, my Audi Quatro still seems to be running on sidelights even with the four spots on the front.

That’s a bummer. You’d think that if we added all those goofy looking lights they would at least work as lights…

Funny how the forums used to be full of “OMG, TURN10 why can’t you do night racing??? Every other game has night racing?” and then once Turn10 go out and do it the proper way those same people come and complain that “It’s dark at night, I can’t see, race case don’t have headlights, this is stupid…”

What is Turn10 supposed to say, “These race cars don’t have headlights AND they don’t race at night but you asked for it so we gave it to you.” or “Other games don’t have “night” racing they have “brightness turned down” racing”.

No just a warning before a nite race that your car has no lights, just like if your car is under PI and needs upgrading!!!

So its the fault of everyone that asked for night races? They had to be more specific: we want night races but only with cars with headlights?

I wasn’t driving a headlightless car but I did notice the AI cars happily driving along with no headlights but with no problems. Looked a bit silly to say the least.

In ALL fairness, it IS called artificial intelligence lol

Yeah, but they use their intelligence to switch on the full racing line before the start of the race  So if you pick a car with no headlights and you really want to race it in the dark, just do the same …

Just eat lots of carrots!

The same happened to me racing at Le Mans. After a few tries I ended up racing with full line. Needless to say it was awkward going down the straights pushing 200 in complete darkness with nothing to guide me but small neon blue triangles

I am not complaining about the night racing, I enjoy the add challenge. I just didn’t realize that this Nissan’s headlights were stickers like those on NASCAR and also it was the first time I drove the car.
