As the title says, i managed to purchase the game on Steam, although i started playing on Xbox (PC app) using the premium game pass, i was unaware that cross-save was not available at the time of purchase. Im not capable to proof the exact amount of people have met this setback, im sure that im not the first that progressed deeply into the game discovering all the available roads, broken the boards and looking for the barn finds, just to migrate and met the reality that only the raw stats and achievements were saved, but my cars, economy and overall progress was left behind.
Im not necessarily looking for my previous progress back, since i just got back to that point, but to newcomers that did migrate from one platform to another, it should be way more satisfying from starting from scratch.
Just to proof that this is possible, other Microsoft-led-company games that just made it into Steam have cross-save (not going to mention them until necessary) between them and the main Xbox PC App, so you can play it from both stores and get the extended progression on your account, regardless of where it comes.
Cheers, and i hope that this makes some noise.

At some point in the future, would Turn 10 and Microsoft look into supporting cross-save between the Xbox app on PC and steam for Forza Horizon 5? That would be really helpful so that I don’t have to restart the game if I switch to steam.

Honestly? I doubt that playground will do anything about that…they didn’t enable cross-save between Steam and MS versions in FH4 as they said it was too complex to do…FH5 is on the same infrastructure so I’d imagine it would be the same again.
this is the only thing keeping me from buying Forza on Steam. I have played it on Xbox and on my pc for a while. now i have a steam deck and want to play FH5 on there. I would be happy to buy it again if i could move my saves

I can also attribute to this the completely unjustified and unjustified (in any case, I did not find any explanation from the developers) inability to receive DLC for the purchase of a Forza gamepad, which upsets me incredibly as a steam player. For what reason can’t I just get a car that is already in the game by being on the steam version of the game and buying a gamepad? For what reason is it simply impossible to convert xbox codes to steam codes through game support, having previously added the same DLC to the steam version? 2 years have passed since the release of the controller, and there are no answers or solutions to this issue. It’s especially frustrating when a season called “community choice” is taking place in the game at this moment, although personally I’ve seen about 10 different topics in different places where people complain about this problem.
