I mean, does it really have to be in the dead centre of the screen???
One time I was winning a head-to-head, until I was in the middle of the woods when this notification popped up blocking my entire screen. So of course I ran into a tree eventually and lost.
I didn’t care if I won the Eliminator because I’m only doing it for the Playlist. As long as I fulfil the requirements, I’m done.
It’s just that it’s extremely annoying when this could have been easily resolved.
I’ve seen so many people complain about this yet it stays the same. How hard is it to move text on a screen and/or reduce text size? Honestly…
The people who could make this change probably have no idea this is even a problem nor even comprehend why. UI team has probably never even played an Eliminator match.
It may actually be harder than you think. It currently uses standard class “Major notification” which works the same way everywhere it’s used. So they can either change how this class works (and need to test the impact in all cases it’s used) or add a completely new notification class, just for eliminator (which is completely different kind of work than just change the text size).
People have been asking for a change to this for years, and nothing was even attempted to fix it. They had a whole game to develop, surely they couldn’t tried that in the year and half or so they spent developing this game.
I’m no triple a game title developer myself so maybe this requires a whole new system to be developed, but if it improves the game then why wouldnt they put in the effort? I know exactly why, because they’ve already made their money and don’t really care that much lol.
I hope they’re pulling an Epic Games with fortnite where they purposely don’t fix something, wait until the playerbase gets beyond frustrated with their broken game/weapon and then finally fix it and theyre then the ‘heroes’ for fixing the thing they should’ve from the start but everyday my hope dwindles even more.
I hear you on the pop ups, they block entire viewing area, and also Eliminator now riddled with cheaters,
It’s hard enough to try to win the thing, which I still havent done… but then you got people teleporting themselves to ‘end point’ in H2H.
I like Eliminator but its becoming less and less fun, I’m really starting to see why people are irritated with the DEV’s and this game, once I completed all the solo/stuff I could get accolades for myself, I started to see all the B.S. everyone is talking about that isn’t fixed or is just flat out ignored…pretty scummy
I’m very bitter with the Eliminator cheater as I was in final 5 people… makes me so mad that game allows this stuff to happen.
I’ve played hundreds ( or thousands of Eliminators if you count FH4 ) and never experienced or had the ability to “teleport” anywhere in any part of it.
It’s just not part of how the mode works, so if there are people able to do this then Defo cheaters.
Also must be on PC as the consoles have no way to manipulate files.
Devs need to look into this.

You are right on this, yes it was 100% on my PC, as I’ve never experienced ‘teleporting opponents’ on my xbox series x.
I’m still irritated over it as I was doing really well and might have had a chance to finally win one round.
It’s what the cheater is playing on, not what you are playing on. If you didn’t encounter a cheater while playing on your Xbox, it was a coincidence. You play against people on both platforms, regardless of what platform you yourself are using.
Yeah - get that - just saying it must be PC players cheating rather than console players.
No doubt they’ll crop up eventually though just like all the other cheaters on leaderboards, etc.
I’m not sure what more the devs can do, they have the files fairly well protected, I haven’t seen a way to edit them so far.
People are complaining about Eliminator notifications since it was introduced in FH4
They never fixed it there and managed to do the same in FH5

This is such a small simple but hugely beneficial fix that everyone should bump this post every day until it gets fixed. If they fix it then great. Problem solved and we know they are listening. If they don’t fix it then we know they don’t care and we can remind them on a daily basis that we know they don’t care.
I also hate the player list on the right in Playground Games. Maybe some transparency to it would help.

Yes!!! Agree 50 billion %. I enjoy playing Playground Games as part of the seasonal challenges but boy oh boy that list blocks out so much visibility. As you suggest making the background more transparent would help. Alternatively they could hide it altogether behind a button press and maybe only display one entry which is everyone’s current position/time/score. Arguably most information is shown on the minimap anyway such as who is infected, where flags are, etc
The screen blocking text is too frequent elsewhere too. At the beginning of the race, why? Just show the tach from the beginning. It’s obnoxious in free roam too with all the icons on the map. Even worse when “super” 7 was added. Can’t wait to see what the new competition adds to it.
I’ve played over 300 Eliminator games in Horizon 5 and won 10. I’ve never encountered any cheating.
For those going for their first win. This is the hardest one. Took me weeks. Then after that that the wins came every 30 games or so. There’s definitely a knack to it and knowing good places on the map to start at and also knowing when to challenge and when not to.
