How come the only Controller Config that allows for a “Change View” option is Config 1?
FH and FH2 did the same thing. In FM, the “Select” button doesn’t do anything, so we have an extra button to dedicate. In the FH games, that button is used to “Activate” events, thus removing the ability to change view if any controller configuration is anything but Config 1.
Anyone know of a good way to go around this? I use Config 12 (Manual + Clutch). I tried contacting Playground back in the day, with no luck…
yeah the activate event should be a double tap of another button I use shift on the stick layout 11 or 12, with that being said I applaud PG & 10 adding all the layouts to this demo
but considering the wreckfest, online I’m forced to switch the chase cam to watch the rest of my opponents, an then go back to hood cam or cockpit after the field spreads out
Double tap or make it so that you have to hold to activate an event would be better. If you use any config other than config 1, your only option is to change camera from the HUD options menu - which gets annoying real quick.
My question is why did they change it to where I can’t have my button layout that I have had on forza games for over 10 years(shift up B, shift down X, ebrake A, and rewind Y) it’s really tough breaking that many years of muscle memory
Have you looked through all the controller configurations? I thought I saw that setup in there, but I could be wrong…
Would be great if they allowed custom controller layouts, though. That way those that don’t use Config 1 can change camera without having to use the option’s menu…
Just playing 1 hour and already see what frustrates me in most games, no freedom in keybindings.
For starters the custom controller tab is empty, so you have to memorize everything, as if that’s not enough it wants you to fill in EVERYTHING which is simply not possible, why, why why. I want to shift with RS up and down, not x and b and I don’t want to shift down when I press RS up.
The Xbox One Elite controller (which is an expensive way to “solve” this) only provides ways to remap buttons which is fine if there is a config that has every option you need. But if you want to use a custom config with say, shift up+down, clutch, and maybe look back (all of which are NOT required binds), you can’t; there simply aren’t enough other buttons to assign to the required ones that you may not ever want or need.
Not to mention, the pre-made configs don’t have all the “required” binds either, it’s is just a ridiculous artificial barrier. It’s not cool to be forced to jump through hoops for a simple feature like this.
You don’t need to bind every single button, only the ones it says it requires. Works perfectly fine on my DS4 controller & my G29 wheel, but yeah is a lot of buttons to set up.
Jesus!!! I couldn’t agree more! I am playing on PC and I am using an Xbone controller and like Forza 6 Apex none of the preset tabs is to my likings but when I try to make a custom, even when I leave as not assigned the same buttons the game’s presets have as not assigned it tells me that some key bindings are empty and doesn’t save. Come ON, this is simple stuff!
no game should force the gamer to map a specific set of controls to the controller.
some gamepads don’t even have as many buttons as stipulated by the controls menu.
even if some of these functions were required to play the game, it should be possible to not have them bound to controller if that function is already bound to a keyboard key(yes, PCs can use keyboard and controller at the same time)
Why is there no ‘switch camera’ button on the ‘layout 11’ button config?! It’s a real pain having to go into the options when I fancy taking in the lovely views (away from the cockpit cam)
Very frustrating for sure. I’ve used the right stick for shifting up and down and the bumpers for my Clutch and Brake for many years now and it’s very frustrating that after the third game of horizon they can’t figure this out yet. 150 bucks down the drain again woohoo
i like it this way. Control fig 6, LB Shift Forward, RB DownShift, Y button camera, X button to Rewind, B button to (E-Brake< FOR DRIFTING), that’s what i like. I don’t like Y to rewind, RB to change camera, A to E-Brake, (ANNA D-Pad down). it is too frustrating.
